If Americans need our little southern recipe for how to defeat fascism it goes like this: - Put people in the streets by standing for popular demands (wages, healthcare, public services) - Do not engage with fascists online - Do not succumb to doomsayers or media-driven narratives - Be happy

Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

Great. So, now my choices as an Illinoisan transplanted to Iowa are the anti-trans Democrat @joshturek4iowa.bsky.social and the anti-trans, Trumper Ashley Hinson. No wonder people hate this state.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Every October for 16 years now, I’ve hosted a 50 hour long marathon of horror movies in my home theater (believe it or not, there’s regularly at least 7 of us who attend the whole thing). This year, my favorite new-to-me movies were Weapons (2025), Frankenstein (2025), and A Dark Song (2017).

Then again, there are plenty of piece of shit parents. Trump should know: he had some, and he is one.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"

- invest in cloud gaming - make future hardware unaffordable - showcase cloud gaming as a cheaper alternative - make cloud gaming a subscription service where the consumer has to pay not just for the product but the time allowed with the product - profit until the masses wake the fuck up

Xbox Cloud Gaming introductory launch pricing revealed: -10hrs for $3.99 -25hrs for $7.99 -50hrs for $11.99 news.xbox.com/en-us/2026/1...

I was lucky enough to be able to afford and manage to secure an Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 on their respective launch days, which is something I won’t even try with next gen hardware because of their estimated costs.

IGN@ign.com

A new report claims that Xbox expects its next-generation console to cost as much as $1,800 and is currently targeting a 2028 release. Microsoft is also rumored to launch a new handheld in 2027. For more info: https://bit.ly/4yV5IaE

A solid—tangible—way to celebrate #IndigenousPeoplesDay is by supporting Native authors/artists. Like say, maybe, picking up this anthology (now in paperback!) that I have a short story in! amzn.to/4AUu3yK

Amazon users are discovering a bizarre "About You" page that reveals what the company thinks it knows about them One woman found Amazon had determined she "has flat buttocks"

I’d go back to this style of 5POA all day long over paying $80 for three 3.75” figures. I didn’t have a problem with them then, and I definitely don’t now.

People dump on the kiddo Hasbro Star Wars lines from the Disney era, they are wrong to do this. Some good figures came out that people ignored. Check out Solo: A Star Wars Story Moloch. He wasn't expensive then, he's affordable now, nice and weird. figureoftheday.blogspot.com/2018/07/star...

I don’t care that it’s Homecoming week here: if I see stupid teens doing stupid shit, this old man is going to call the cops.

Bust up big corporations and tackle Wall Street’s greed. Get big money out of politics. Strengthen unions and boost wages. Pass Medicare for all, paid leave, universal childcare, and so much more... This is the agenda Democrats need to fight for. It's not enough to simply be anti-Trump.

I loved Lanterns and am eager to see more of the cast… but the finale more or less played out as I’ve been expecting the last couple of weeks so it didn’t land as hard for me as it seems to have for everybody else.

Today's Star Wars thought: Kinberg's series could focus on Force users who the galaxy is side-eyeing after decades of wars instigated by powerful Force users. The masses may not see a difference between the Light and the Dark. It's all dangerous. Rey's new order will have lots of problems.

Listen up fellow dads, the absolute LEAST thing you can do right now in light of the Cornell stuff is have a frank talk with your sons. Make it clear what’s expected of them and how they can be safe people for women. Dont shy away from the hard topic. It’s essential

Just watched The Mandalorian & Grogu for the first time since seeing it opening day in theaters. I’ve had it digitally and physically since both of those release dates. It’s never taken me this long to watch a Star Wars home video release before. 😳

It’s so bizarre to me how much Reddit is shitting on Jon Watts. The Spider-Man Home trilogy and Skeleton Crew weren’t good? Go back under your bridges, trolls.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Toby Haynes, or Rick Famuyiwa, please. I feel like if true, the trades will figure it out within days, if not hours.

RUMOR: A director has been found for the Simon Kinberg Trilogy. It WILL NOT BE Simon Kinberg. Production is said to be ramping up fast possible filming could start as early as next year Source: Caleb Williams: #StarWars #NewJediOrder #Kinberg

I was planning on waiting until all of Lanterns was out before binging it, but because the internet lost its chill and immediately spoiled episode 4 right after dropped, I ditched that plan and caught up with it.

George should have gone further with changes after the PT. Show Bail on Alderaan seeing the arrival of the Death Star. Throw the Emperor in there just for fun.

What is your UNPOPULAR OPINION in regards to Star Wars 1977 aka A New Hope #StarWars #StarWars77 #ANewHope

Started replaying the NES’ The Legend of Zelda last night because I’ve never beaten it, and I’d love to see Nintendo remake it with modern graphics, quality of life improvements, and rebalanced difficulty. Thing’s damn near impossible to play today without a guide of some sort.

Welp. Starting in November, I will no longer be employed by IGN. It's been a hell of a ride and I cannot understate how much of an honor and a privilege the last 11+ years have been. This was a dream job, but the best part of IGN is, was, and always will be the people.
