Folks who are fortunate enough to have access to a gym with a steamroom and/sauna, and for whatever reason do not rinse off before partaking - why are you the way that you are? Oh cool, old crotchsweat and funk I just love that for us all.

The professor here does an excellent job grounding the issues Anderssen avoids in making his weird self-emulating and honestly racist lament of our society's mild attempts to address systemic issues that same racism helped establish. Thank you professor!

I think we just need to fully comprehend that a lot of these leaders just either cannot or will not keep up. My honest guess is Schumer has some prior War Powers legislation in mond, but does not understand the need to add that context. While that honestly seems like a hard task, THATS THE JOB

It is essential for the rule of law that everyone involved in this end up in prison. Nothing else is a sufficient deterrent against the intentional, repeated abuse of government power to systematically deny fundamental rights.

Gritting my teeth and watching the clock as DOJ misses its daily 5 p.m. ET deadline for giving Judge Xinis an update in the Abrego Garcia case ... 15 minutes late so far ...

So we're just going full police state, I guess? Seems like a problem. Sure would be nice to see some Democratic leadership take this seriously. *Some noises about repealing Section 230* Ah good, definitely should grant more power to the same govt agencies doing police state stuff. Get them out.

Where is the lie?

Democrats built their entire party structure on polite deference, seniority, and chasing bipartisanship—as opposed to elevating the most talented and passionate politicians. ...Leaving too many pale, stale (and, frankly, male) lawmakers in prominent positions.

This has been an ongoing project for a while, and liberals everywhere need to recognize the threat these actors pose to a liberal democracy. Rufo is a slime ball whose modus operandi is to conflate sexual perversion with LGBTQ+ communities, and has used it to push them out of education spaces.

And so here it is all laid out. The intention to overturn the Civil Rights Act,to dismantle the Dept of Education, to bankrupt leading universities, to replace liberal arts education w/something that conservatives haven’t created & don’t have the educators to create. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/07/o...

Really needs to be a quick 2-3 click method to tell the democratic party leadership just how badly they suck at any given time. It is wild that Dems hire consultants to help them gauge their party interest at a time when it seems clear their own party actively dislikes them so much.

The speed at which NYTimes has moved to embrace sports betting is absolutely insane. Its just bonkers.

Kendrick Lamar’s live set has been unpredictable and evocative his whole career. But who might he bring out to perform with him at halftime of Super Bowl LIX? Odds provided by @betmgmsportsbook.bsky.social ⤵️

Popular or not Dems cannot bend on the need for trans people to be treated with basic humanity and respect. If we give up that because the right made trans people unpopular, we give up everything. They’ll dice us group by group like a salami. We die on this hill or we die alone in a ditch

Holy cow! I got a response from Schiff defending his yes on Sean Duffy: Some of the nominees appear qualified and suitable for their intended roles, irrespective of whether I agree with them on every issue. Unfortunately, some of the other nominees President-elect Trump has...

...announced, including Kash Patel, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Pete Hegseth, hold highly problematic and extreme positions that are inconsistent with the law enforcement, national security, health care and other needs and priorities of the American people.

Anyone out here have kids with an IEP? You want to check out what will happen if/when Trump tries this? I can't really comprehend the level of generational destruction this is going to cause. Folks, you need to step up and tune in. We really are in for hard times. Contact your reps, reach out.

I have a very small following so this doesn't do much, but I'm pretty angry the FCC is going after NPR. They are trying to take out their funding, without which public radio is not going be around much longer. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/30/b...

nytimes.comF.C.C. Chair Orders Investigation Into NPR and PBS SponsorshipsBrendan Carr, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, said the inquiry could help Congress decide whether to continue funding local stations.

That next step is daunting, but someone needs to take them and my kids are counting on me.

Sometimes feels foolish to have become a parent in the Biden era. My kids face fewer rights, a less habitable world, and ascendant reactionaries, a grim tide only temporarily arrested. But it's also the best, most clarifying change I've ever made. How can I not fight for better? These are the stakes

I used one of those all-in-one breakfast sandwich makers this morning (thank you White Elephant). The end product is not too bad! I'm not sure it beats frying an egg while some bread toasts, slapping some cheese and stacking it up - but the novelty was neat. Cleanup wasn't too much either.

It kind of seems like folks, even long-time skeeters, are figuring out how to deal with content management. You can see users recognizing DQ or other engagement bait, but also trying to take part in meaningful conversations.

You are up to date.
