Chris Bell

Don't say no one told you.

Had the pleasure of auditing 3 new masterclasses on white male fragility today. Time for a drink.

It's just a week until @britfantasysoc.bsky.social Fantasycon and tickets are still available! Our Hugo Award longlisted editor, writer, and poet @edebell.com and Hugo Award winning editor, writer, poet, and British Fantasy Awards finalist @jolantru.bsky.social hope to see you there.

Recently, I finished this book called the Dragon of Ynys by @minervacerridwen.bsky.social & I really enjoyed it! It includes a lot of queer characters, the story is very sweet, heartwarming & of course, Snap the dragon is absolutely perfect. It’s such a comforting little book that made me so happy 🐉

I've unwillingly audited so many masterclasses on white male fragility, they should just give me a fucking PhD. If you think this is a subtweet about you. It isn't. Except now that you think it is... it absolutely is, professor.

EMERGENCY MUTUAL AID REQUEST 🚨 Just broke my middle finger. Unhoused mentally unwell man yelled/ran at us—Hounds immediately protected me. Their leashes snapped my finger, which was also holding a grocery bag. Since UCLA illegally fired me, I have no health insurance. venmo.com/u/JohnathanPerk

Would appreciate any help for funding long-term treatments and meds to support daily pain management and injury recovery. ko-fi.com/bydhiyanah Maybe get something for yourself or loved ones from my art shop on there. Always human-made, and hand-drawn. #DisabledArtist #SupportArtist #bsnm

Remember that time Robert Kraft got a hand job from trafficked sex workers?

Please tell me I'm wrong, but it appears the official SFWA StoryBundle being sold right now does not contain a single BIPOC author?

Not just sitting around... actively protecting the spaces they have privileged access to, denying that CWN are in their own spaces, and erasing and attacking any white person who speaks out while using the necessary caution of black Americans as their justification.

Congratulations to our very own E.D.E. Bell for making the Hugo Awards long form editor long list! We are so grateful for the nominations. We are our stories. #LAconV

Safest truck on the planet right outside the happiest place on earth.

Tonight, a group of Jubilee Cho's friends gathered to celebrate her life. Some of us walked afterward to the park entrance to commemorate the event with a photo of her Nebula finalist novel at her favorite place in the world. To #LAconV, we have copies! To those struggling: You are *not* alone. 🏳️‍⚧️

Witnessed a middle-aged white guy (reader not author) say that he thinks the things readers support is controlled by the power structure. Gave me a sliver of hope.

The #LAconV vendor hall is open, and we're so excited to be here. You'll find us in between the Special Guests and Clarkesworld Magazine. We hope you'll come meet us and give these wonderful books a look! 💕

One of my earliest childhood memories was spending time with my grandmother in Nancy's Wichita campaign office "running" the copy machine.

We just posted an update welcoming new backers to Atthis Arts. We hope this introduction to our press and some of our recent titles will help you get to know us better, and perhaps join us, in the woodlands? www.kickstarter.com/projects/att...

Thrilled to see we were the Illustration project chosen by @kickstarter.com to feature in the Projects We Love Newsletter! 💖 #Kickstarter #Illustration www.kickstarter.com/projects/att...

If you’re a white “progressive” and actually want to do better/more? Follow people that make you uncomfortable with your inaction. Embrace the shame and let it push you to do more.

Maybe that's kind of helpful? If ICE doesn't release body cam footage, then we know they are lying without the need to argue stupid interpretations of the video.

Thank you, Michigan. I love you from the bottom of my heart!

We are so grateful and joyful to say that the Woodlands book and 2027 Ulla Thynell Calendar are funded and definitely happening! Thank you so much for your support. Now, to soar! #Art #Illustration #Kickstarter #ArtBooks #Books #IndieArt #FantasyArt www.kickstarter.com/projects/att...

We're currently the most popular Art Project on Kickstarter! Come give us a look? 🌲🌳 www.kickstarter.com/projects/att... #Book #ArtBook #Poetry #Art #Illustration #Kickstarter #FantasyArt

There is so much magic in the woodlands. Step in and take a closer look... Now live on Kickstarter.

UCLA illegally fired its DEI Director—over posts about Charlie Kirk. Obviously suing. Hired a team of lawyers, including 1st Amendment specialists; no idea how this’ll go but y’all have my word on one thing: I will never ever accept any settlement that requires me to keep the details confidential.

1500!

We are just 16 clicks away from a huge number, and numbers are numbers, but it would make us so happy to see it, and give us something really fun to post in our build-up for launch. Got a click or a share for handmade art and the communities who share it? #Art #Illustration #FantasyArt

There’s a reason I insist Philadelphia, PA is the last remaining Great American City. Here’s a Liberty Bell tour guide. Worth a listen. 🇺🇸🔔🦅 #GoBirds #Philly

It's been really exciting working on this one. The Kickstarter team has been great helping us understand the capabilities of their new pledge manager.

UIla's art is amazing. www.instagram.com/ullathynell/

This story is crazy. It would appear Trump admin officials rigged their nationally televised high school civics contest to keep a young man from a Sikh family out of the finalists. www.notus.org/national/ame...

This (moderate) level of racial competency is VERY rare for someone of this demo; white folks should’ve been listening to and learning from people like this for decades. Sadly, it’s too late to dismantle racism, now. Racism has won. White America chose it instead of a hyper-qualified Black Woman. 🙁

Luke Skywalker liked this post ☺️

It’s amazing, white people are just sitting around, allowing Republicans to install fascism in government—with the process is already 54% complete‼️ And you folks are truly confident you’ll simply vote your way out of this. Problem is, Project 2025 makes it so Dems lose all consequential elections.
