Travis Knight says that LAIKA will NEVER use generative AI in their films: “AI is theft. It’s the ingestion of years and years and years of human creativity and ingenuity, regurgitated back. It has no humanity. It has no spirit.”

genuinely not a damn soul was doing it like him

Hey remember a couple months ago when I almost died from sleep apnea and begged y'all to be checked if you have symptoms of sleep apnea? Eric Bauza just died from sleep apnea. We were the same age. Don't ignore sleep apnea.

Folks, if anything, and I mean anything doesn't feel quite right, trust yourself and get it looked at by a medical professional. I woke myself up one day gasping for breath. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea not long afterwards. I still use a CPAP to this day.

There are no signs for this. My thoughts and condolences to the Bauza family at this time...

Was holding my breath until I saw this, exciting to see. Was a bit too young for Knightmare when it was originally shown, but I used to watch repeats on Challenge TV loads.

Karaoke, here we come. Since there may be some drinks involved, I'm buffing my liver with Ukon no Chikawa (Turmeric based drink found in kombinis).

Damn, this hurts. I borrowed the novel Audition from my local library, as I'd heard about the movie. I loved how it had started out as a slightly romantic novel, right before the dark lurch into the psychological horror in the second half. Still didn't prepare me enough for the film. RIP Ryū-san.

Posting this in memory of Hiroshi Tsuchida, AKA Ninja Blue in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. This is the first time I've posted this since learning of his passing, it will definitely not be the last.

Yay! Can't wait for the results! Congratulations to Sean, and the cast and crew on both seasons!

Just announced: Shigeru Miyamoto has been awarded the prestigious “Order of Culture” award from the Japanese government, for his “contribution to Japanese culture”. The Emperor will present Miyamoto the award on the Japanese national holiday “Culture Day” (11/3). news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/ca2...

I would be absolutely thrilled to see the federal government actually help our creative industries after nothing but year after year of layoffs and cuts.

Only 3 weeks into my Japanese learning journey, and I have a ton of 1 and 5 yen coins. I can probably use the 5s in shrines, but the 1s?

⭐️ SNOOZE ⭐️ The Tiny Angry Witch dislikes mornings just as much as we do. It's authentic stop-motion animation. We'd love to have more time to devote to these, so if you know any eccentric millionaires, let us know! Written, built, animated, voice and scored by 4 x people (and 1 x Witch)

Getting to know my fellow students, and trying out some Japanese cookies at the same time! おいしい！

Just an email from Dropbox saying they're integrating AI options. Looks to be voluntary, but they can fuck right off with that. I don't usually swear like this, but this time it's warranted.

#Sonictober2026 Day 19! Theme: Two-Faced. Is it really a dishonest act when it is not one's choice to bring out their hidden self? Or could the dishonesty come from the lies we tell ourself...? Art by @akkorokamui.bsky.social
