Here. We. Go! About to hit the road and cruise up north. Will you be there? I’m excited for this event. A great community of fellow programmers and plenty of new #rubyfriends Estou entusiasmado para este evento. Uma grande comunidade de colegas programadores e muitos novos #rubyfriends #rubylang

✨ Viana do Castelo, the Heart and the Art of Euruko! Just like Viana’s iconic filigree heart, Ruby is more than code — it’s art, gems, and inspiration. ❤️ Join us in celebrating this unique Viana gem at Euruko 2025! #Euruko2025 #Ruby

I'm grateful for the recent opportunity to be part of the Conference Program Committee for @eurukoconf.bsky.social alongside so many experienced devs, leaders and organizers. So many great talk proposals came through. Looking forward to seeing everyone and learning a ton in September!

Introducing Tidewave: tidewave.ai While working on our web apps, we run code, query the database, read logs, search docs… but our AI tools are limited to reading code. Tidewave closes this gap by introducing Runtime Intelligence, for Phoenix and Rails. More coming soon, check out the website!

Agora, espero .. Estou pronto para Braga. ⏱️ Acho que até lembrei-me (<-é correto?) dos meus produtos de higiene e carregadores! 🤯 Now, I wait. I’m ready for Braga! I think I even remembered my toiletries and chargers! (Always a struggle) Let’s go! @alchemyconf.com #elixir

All planning done for @alchemyconf.com As someone who only toys lightly with Elixir/Phoenix, I’m mainly excited to meet tons of new people (I don’t know anyone!) and soak up some knowledge. Off to Braga and the beautiful Teatro Circo soon. 🚂 Should be a fun one! See you there.

Remembered and logged in to my old Last.fm account. 🎧 The power of music never ceases to amaze me. Playing these, I was immediately flooded with crystal clear memories of events, amazing moments, tragic moments, friends, family, ALL THE THINGS associated with those periods of my life. Love it.

A lot of folks have been asking me what exactly they’ll learn in my new book, Hotwire Native for Rails Developers. So here’s a quick chapter-by-chapter rundown of what’s inside. 👇

Whoaaa, buddy! Look what's on the horizon. Let's go, Stephen! @fractaledmind.bsky.social This is a brilliant collab, @aaronfrancis.com 👍

Aaron Francis@aaronfrancis.com

I'm incredibly excited to announce that we've partnered with @fractaledmind.bsky.social to produce our first course on Ruby on Rails. Sponsored by @hatchbox.io and @honeybadger.io, High Leverage Rails is an in-depth video course on Rails + SQLite for beginners. Coming in February!

I won't be there, but heads up for anyone wanting to get in on the CFP action for @balticruby.bsky.social - 1 month 📆 #ruby #rubyonrails #balticruby

Baltic Ruby@balticruby.bsky.social

It is almost 1 month before we are closing our CFP and start reviewing process. Please help us share this! We need more applications. www.papercall.io/bal... #rubyconference #balticruby #conference #rubycommunity #cfp #ruby #rails #hanami #sinatra #oss #opensource

I've been using PHPStorm mainly for my deep dive into Laravel (which has been incredible - both the editor and the framework), but as a person who bounces between editors I'm excited for this!

Laravel VS Code extension ships Monday in public beta. ✨

I truly miss the days without unlimited options. Example - Music: ☞ Save up money ☞ Go to a dedicated music store ☞ Flip through a billion albums to find ones that seem interesting ☞ Take those CDs to a station with headphones and speed-listen one-by-one to the albums to see which I want.

In general, we don't have to think much about our choices anymore because we know there are tens, thousands, millions of other options at the drop of a hat.

Our technology is incredible these days and absolutely amazing, but man do I miss the simpler days. I frequently think about this and I might be alone, but today I just felt like writing it down and putting it out there into the abyss. Toodles.

☞ Buy it ☞ OWN IT!! (almost impossible these days) ☞ Get hyped up on the way home that I get to listen to new music ☞ (insert optional Sony Discman with fuzzy headphones here) ☞ Enjoy the music even more because I worked hard for that album and chose it over others.

We live in a world of complete abundance now, with unlimited options for everything. Anything we want is at our fingertips in an instant. We own nothing. We are still unhappy as a whole.

All I'm craving in Bluesky is the ability to bookmark/save posts. I like to save references which are important to me in this moment, forget they exist, then remember them in a couple years when I take time to clear out bookmarks. But seriously, bookmarks would be a nice addition. 👍

I took this week to take a break from all my #rubyonrails projects/ideas and took a dive head-first into #laravel and @filamentphp.com. The only thing I've been thinking is: This is so much fun! Remember to break away from the norm and just play every once in a while. Development is fun!

Away in the mountains for some relax time with my wife and we’re playing games without tech. First and last hand-drawn game of Battleships I’ll ever play. Super fun, but NEVER play with single square ships. Brutal. We need a vacation from our vacation after that brain-bender. 🤯 🎉

Finally taking my first dive into ViewComponents. Thoughts in order: - This is much easier to setup and get going than I thought it would be. Nice! - It's so simple to write these. - It's so difficult to plan these. - I have no clue what I'm doing. - I'm hungry. Summary: So far so good.

You are up to date.
