“With Election Day just around the corner, we’re working right up until the polls close to elect leaders who will fight for working families, not corporate interests & wealthy donors. These endorsements reflect the priorities of our members & the future we’re organizing to build across New York.”

“We're proud to endorse candidates who understand what our communities are up against & are ready to fight alongside us for a better future. With election day just weeks away, we’re mobilizing our members & organizing in our communities to make sure New Yorkers have a voice in who represents them.”

Citizen Action joined the #PaidLeaveVoter Days of Action to register voters and talk about the need for leaders to prioritize working families. We must see Temporary Disability Insurance expanded and improved because when you get sick and can't work, $170 a week just doesn't cut it.

Last night we came together to celebrate Our Everyday Heroes! We’re grateful to have had a full room of members, organizers, community leaders, and friends celebrating six incredible people who are putting people power into action in communities across New York.

We were honored to recognize Assemblymember Grace Lee, Assemblymember Jessica González-Rojas, Onondaga County Legislator Mo Brown, Marco “August” Rey-Llanes of the Southern Tier, Antonia Francois of NYC, and Arran Thomas of Central New York.

Every month it's something else. Rent goes up, groceries cost more, healthcare feels further out of reach, childcare eats a bigger piece of the paycheck than it did last year. Meanwhile, corporations and billionaires keep posting record profits.

Join us for a night of celebration and support Citizen Action of New York's work to advance Our Justice Agenda! We'll honor the ordinary people who, through community organizing & political action, have demonstrated extraordinary power in making New York a more just state. Tickets: cit.ac/OEH-27

“Our endorsed candidates understand that New Yorkers deserve affordable healthcare, housing, childcare, and fully funded public services, and they’re prepared to organize alongside Citizen Action and our members to deliver on those priorities.”

Today, we joined community members, healthcare advocates, labor leaders, faith organizations, & elected officials across the state for a coordinated day of action to celebrate the 61st anniversary of Medicare & Medicaid, while condemning recent federal attacks on affordable healthcare.

"Housing is one of the most basic forms of assistance and care because without a stable place to live, it is harder to keep a job or to stay healthy. It is harder to care for your children, it is harder to manage a disability or recover form a crisis," and advocate said.
