Tesco Custard Creams - Simple sandwich biscuits available in the UK, which are deceptively high-calorie for their size and price. One packet of these contains 1960 calories. They're 65p - 80p per packet @ Tesco. That means that £10 can get you between 23,520 and 29,400 calories of biscuits.

i forget which 20th century abstract artist said this, i think it was joan miro, but they lamented that music was the only medium where audiences readily embrace pure abstraction, whereas with visual art people expect direction and representation. i think thats why i like music

So it's not quite a dress code and not quite a uniform, and is heavily accessorised. The point is not to represent a certain school but to represent education, which is why teachers and undergraduates wear it too.

A good example of how all schools and universities in the Commonwealth share a basic uniform. It's nonspecific and unbranded, so the pattern of colour is more important than specific items. Women can wear trousers too, I just wanted to make it clear they were the same characters

i always struggle to explain this. some ppl talking abt the fermi paradox say "but what are the chances that we're really the first intelligent life in the universe" but if intelligent life emerged at any point it would be observing itself as we are, so probability isnt a factor right

theres no such thing as a birth lottery, souls aren't randomly put into bodies across history, you are you and not someone else because you're a collection of matter with the emergent property of consciousness. you were always gonna be in there.

Slowly Rotating Gas Giant. This gas giant planet rotates only once every few months, and it orbits far from its star, so its weather patterns take the form of large convection cells driven by the internal heat left over from formation. #GasGiant #Space #Planet #SpaceArt #PlanetArt #Convection

The two major alien ships introduced in TNG's first season are some of my favourites and I would argue hold up better today than many of the others that followed in terms of originality and refined detailing. The Warbird is a fan favourite but I feel like the Ferengi Marauder is somewhat slept on.

The Ferengi themselves got off to a, um, rocky start. But I think that the final version seen on screen is also one of the most unique and enduring Star Trek prosthetic designs. It's probably a big part of the reason why they weren't dropped after some pretty dire early episodes.
