TIL: Skip, Trip, and Chip aren't short for anything. They're meta-nicknames based on who you're named after. I know i took way too long to figure that out. This was mostly inspire by the engineer on the nx-01 enterprise #StarTrek
Hey, gentle reminder that using line breaks in social media posts.
Like this.
Helps dyslexic readers (waves, 6 out of 13(ish) forms) read what you're trying to say.
I want to read your posts but large blocks of text make that exceedingly difficult, esp. if I'm tired or stressed.
Please repost.
On Threads I'm seeing a lot of Messianics spelling out the tetragrammaton using paleo-hebrew letters. I don't know why they are doing it but it gives me the creeps.
Need some beta readers or critique partners who read popular romantic fantasy.
Yes... I'm writing one. May as well lean into what I'm good since I can't seem to make myself write the thriller (that or it needs to cook longer).
Reposts greatly appreciated.

I'm like 10 minutes into #WonderMan and I can see that Simon's approach to acting is not good for tv. It's not subtle. He's obviously very smart. Why can't he see that.
Quora sends me some of the most basic questions about judaism asked by gentiles. Some of which assume that jews have an anti-christian/jesus sentiment that jews generally don't have. It feels like the asters have been living under a rock and told that jews hate them.
I'm rewatching Justice League and John Stewart doesn't make anything with the ring. He just uses beams and circles/spheres. Is that how he works in the comics. Is he just very direct and not imaginative?
22 magnificent people value own voice stories enough to put down some money. I need that to get to 30 tonight. $45 in 15 minutes and I’ll stay up late and tell you a story.
If it’s not you, please reskeet this.
Thank you.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
Seems like the word "folks" is being used a lot more frequently in the last few years, while "people" is declining.
What ia it about "folks" that makes it preferable to "people"?
It must suck to be Sage for #GenV and #TheBoys. To have perfect plans and them be screwed up by someone's character flaw or emotional episode. Might as well have named her sybil.
I get messages from quora about popular (i guess) questions, and its always questions a Christian is asking about judaism that are suspiciously rudimentary or malicious in a veiled way. Veiled by feigned ignorance. You know it's feigned by the fact that they knew enough to ask the question. Does...
This sort of implies that there are only herbivores and top carnivores. There are animals in the middle of the food chain, middle carnivores/omnivores that fight back against an apex predator without having to justify that they also kill to eat.
I can often eat a balanced meal large enough to make most people full and still be quite hungry afterwards. Does this happen to anyone else?
Sometime I don't want to just eat more of that balance meal, assuming there are leftovers at all.
I imagine there could be 6 kg bag of human food like...
If an AI actually understood anything it was saying, you could logic it into self destruction Kirk style. But it doesn't. Words are just transistor statuses to it.
The President—who uses antisemitic slurs—is building concentration camps and an enormous secret police force.
Ya know, maybe this is just because I’m Jewish, but I wish the political opposition and the media made a bigger deal about it!
The word Carrion... do you mostly know what that word means w/o looking it up?
Just react to post if you do, pls.
Reposts appreciated bcs something I've seen in a book is absolutely blowing my mind.
I'm wondering if my ridiculous vocabulary is making me think most people would know what it means.
In The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren embarrasses himself twice in front of a squad of troops. Once when he orders enough firepower to level a city to be turned on one man while yelling like a madman. Second he fights the image of a Luke for way too long before realizing it's an image while not landing a ...
... lose faith in him. The soldiers fight with less conviction because they don't believe in their leader. Some of the admirals take their fleet and break off from the first order, vying to take leadership of it for themselves. Infighting hinders the inner workings of the Order. All this leads to...
... a weakening of the first order to a point where the resistance might actually stand a chance. Psychological factors are a very real part of warfare.
I am still upset that this avenue of story telling was completely ignored in Rise of Skywalker.

... single blow. He looks like a total amateur being schooled by an old man. So that's really 3 times. There was a plot point to be had in the next movie where the story of Kylo's embarrassment is told by the squad that was there to other and to others until the admirals and generals under Kylo...
Charges against Trump are being dropped or him being given no sentence when found guilty, doesn't this show the USA considers the President above the law. How can it have any self respect after that. Might as well be a monarchy.
