Politico wrote up Zohran playing basketball with the uncovering-a-big-scandal tone the same day the NYTimes wrote up "credible allegation that The President of the United States raped a woman" as a political strategy story. Broken media in a nutshell

You can put aside socialist-leftist prescriptions about how dangerous that alliance is, if you would like. But everything I read, across the political spectrum, agrees that these countries are connected. It is just civic maturity to pay attention to Brazil's election.

I'm going to try to do this cleanly. Today's right wing governments are networked to each other. Those networks are well-documented. You can read about them in books. Following the elections in one node of that network is good practice for understanding the U.S. node.

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

Haley Stevens represents everything wrong with the Democratic Party. She moved into Andy Levin's district and took AIPAC's millions to defeat him in a primary. He is Jewish, she is not. She's accused Abdul El Sayed of antisemitism and bad Black outreach. The party would be better without her.

It’s late October. People are voting right now. If you cannot deliver a convincing, full throated endorsement of the Democratic nominee in the potentially deciding race for the Senate, stay the fuck off television

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.

Many comments on the great election victories in Brazil and Serbia state that the authorian right is in decline or that voters have rejected far-right authoritarianism. That is a wrong interpretation of what happened. Progressive movements mobilized and beat the authoritarian right. That's different

I know it’s gauche to say it out loud, but I remain convinced that Trump launched the Iran war to distract from the Epstein Files. He juiced gas prices, tanked Republicans midterms and made himself a lame duck to suppress the release of the files. The man is guilty and he knows it.

It’s going to be incredible the extent of the crimes we’ll find out about after these criminal imbeciles are thrown out of power. We’re going to need a full investigation and accounting for all of the crimes they have committed.

Lula, the MST and the PT have many, many lessons for the American left. At this point, I think you’d have to consider Lula the most successful leftist politician of the last…40 years?

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

With 83% of the vote counted nationwide, Lula has stretched his lead to 2.8 million votes. That's a lead of 51.4% to 48.6%. That puts him on track for a victory that could be larger than his 1.8% win four years ago, which would be an immense comeback. He's even up in Minas Gervais now, by 0.6%.

Everyone thought Lula was cooked, hopeless. Then he bought a phone and started posting and now he's gonna get a 4th term. The lesson is to never stop posting.

Spurs have a lot of good players and a good manager. We’re starting to look like a decent team. We’ll likely regret not converting either of those chances, but this is an encouraging performance so far.

Tel really busted his ass all year last year. He’s always been one of the squad who clearly cared about the club and wanted to contribute. He’s a talented, hard working kid who hasn’t yet produced a ton of end product. It was great to see him get a great goal.

It’s never been more clear that racism is a scam perpetrated by wealthy elites to convince working people to blame someone other than the wealthy elite.

The corrupt billionaires ransacking our tax dollars and destroying our country are the same guys saying it’s the fault of immigrants, trans people and people of color. It’s never been more blatantly obvious.

I recently bought tickets to see my first Spurs matches IRL and was a liiiittle bit nervous it was going to be another washed season. I’m starting to feel like this squad will end up in the European places where we belong.

Don't have a very firm grasp on Chelsea's level right now but I'd still say that's the best 45 of football Spurs have played in a hell of a while.

Spurs going to Stamford Bridge and getting their second win since 1990 is also Spursy. You can never guess what is going to happen with this insane club.
