I watched You Can See Everything last night—and spent the whole day wondering if Errol Morris had seen it yet and if I could somehow talk to him about it. Also, I saw the WeWork building as I took my kid to the Austin central library.

This Wikipedia article on the band Pacific Gas & Electric has a section that reads like a “Where Are They Now?” text epilogue that plays in silence right before the closing credits

He’s just standing in his living room, wearing a suit and tie, waiting for strangers to notice him. When one does, he says, “It’s good to see you” while his wife stands in the background and smiles. HE HAS TURNED. THIS IS POD PEOPLE SHIT.

Here is what seems to be happening at KUT, Austin's NPR affiliate. 1. The GOP regime cuts NPR funding. 2. KUT organizes a festival to raise money. 3. GOP political appointees at the University of Texas try to kill the festival by banning it from UT facilites just before it starts, with no warning.

My five-year-old: Dad, I have one simple question for you. Me: What is it, buddy? My five-year-old: …. Me: Yes…? My five-year-old, smiling: Who let the dogs out? Who, who, who, who, who?

My 4-year-old pointed to the two red flowers and said, “Those look like little demogorgons.” And I was like,”What???” (And then I remembered there’s a Stranger Things pinball machine at the neighborhood pizza place.)

Random memory inspired by recent news: My parents took me to see the magician Harry Blackstone Jr when he performed in Corpus. His act was full of topical jokes, including one where he showed an empty box or cage and said, “It’s as empty as Fawn Hall’s filing cabinet.”
