I always struggle with finding the right icon, so I built semantic search into our icon picker @sanity.io ✨ No more time spent trying to remember if the icon is called `create-user` or `add-person` 😮‍💨

We fully replaced ESLint with oxlint in @sanity.io Studio! 🥳 Total lint time went from ~101s to ~21.5s. Before, linting meant oxlint + ESLint, and ESLint was also running the React Compiler checks. 😮‍💨 Now it’s just oxlint, including the Rust-powered React Compiler linter. 🧘

First big leap towards replacing rollup + esbuild with rolldown. With the studio on vite 8 it's time to move the rest of our devtooling over to tsdown, oxfmt, oxlint, vite+. Always bet on whatever the @voidzero.dev team is cooking!

Studio v6 ships June 11. Test now: npm install sanity@next-major Builds 2–9× faster in our testing (@vite.dev 8), offers better default search. Two breaking changes: Node 20 (EOL) dropped, min 22.12, and auth providers replace instead of append. Everything else unchanged. go.sanity.io/ULGnBMf

i think wider ai discourse would be wildly different if everyone actually understood that Claude and ChatGPT are “eldritch creations via petajoules of stochastic optimizations” rather than “chat bot programmed by a san francisco tech company’s engineers”

I’m over the moon excited about this ⚡️

Joe Savona@en-js.bsky.social

Once the port completes we have to iterate, test, look at perf, and then ship. Will try to get a ln experimental preview out asap.

You HAVE to run this command across your Vitest test suite at least once 👀

VoidZero@voidzero.dev

Flaky tests and memory leaks are the worst. @vitest.dev now has a flag that catches uncleared intervals, lingering servers, and other async operations leaking across your tests. Available in the latest 4.1 beta. Big shout out to @ariperkkio.dev from the Vitest team for landing this PR! 🔥

If you are running a vulnerable Next.js or RSC app behind Cloudflare or other WAF, but your origin is still accessible directly from the internet then you are not protected! Attackers are iterating IP addresses so you will probably be found. Upgrade right now!

I’m extremely excited for how well this new api is shaping up to be. SanityLive on this setup will be S M O O O O T H 😤 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌

Matt Kane@mk.gg

I have a new RFC up for route caching in Astro. It's our answer to ISR etc, but it has some important differences that I think would make it really powerful. If you saw my talk at ViteConf you will have seen a preview, but this has a lot more detail on implementation and API. I'd love feedback!

We are so back 🤌

All of the colors are calculated based on a single CSS variable using relative oklch, so you can change the theme with just one line. --tint: green; Modern CSS is amazing! 😲

Last minute tweaks to the slides 🤏 got two looooong flights ahead 😮‍💨

We’ve been using the activity API at sanity since it was released as experimental to support multiple Iframes being mounted & unmounted whilst preserving their state & I’m really pleased at how fantastic it’s been.

We're hosting the official @nextjs.org Conf opening party 🎉 Can't make it to our *[NYC] event? Don't worry—we'll be in SF too! Oct 21, 7pm-midnight at Southern Pacific Brewing in the Mission. Great food, drinks, games + the Next.js (and Sanity!) community. Register below 👇🏻

Ok you win, when can we have a client/SSR cache API? 🥺

Ricky@ricky.fm

Most of the people I see excited about the store API should actually be asking for a client/ssr cache API

trusted publishing is fantastic for ensuring that the state of a @github.com repo maps to a public package ... but maintainers are still vulnerable to phishing, allowing bypassing it so: this action fails ci when upgrading to a 'non-provenanced' package

in light of the current supply chain attacks, I've just published a @github.com action to detect packages that _lose_ their provenance. 📦 supports pnpm-lock.yaml, package-lock.json, yarn.lock (v1) 🎨 inline GitHub annotations ✅ JSON output + configurable 💪 published in TS with zero deps

styled-components maintenance mode doesn't have to mean panic mode. Our engineer @codey.bsky.social made performant community forks. Linear's already seeing 40% faster renders with zero code changes. Not a permanent fix, but it buys you time to migrate properly. www.sanity.io/blog/cut-sty...

It's very difficult to get stable repeatable benchmark results for scenarios that tie into React Concurrent mode. The best I've come up with is this one: - Before concurrent-styled-components.sanity.dev?strategy=ins... - After concurrent-styled-components.sanity.dev?strategy=use...

React folks: Id love your suggestions for an example app that stresses context update performance. I’m looking for something bigger than a micro benchmark, smaller than a full production app. Just complex to have a more realistic distribution of time in framework/product logic, ~1kloc
