📢 After more than 11 years of working at Adverity in various positions, I’ve decided to look for new challenges in 2025. 🚀 I'm excited to share that starting in January, I'll be joining the Frontend Platform Team at @sentry.io.

Disagree with this. Booleans should be chosen so that the default value is `false`. If enabled defaults to true (like in react-query), it's not great. You can chose different naming depending on context (like `skip` in RTK-Query) to make it more positive. But yeah, obviously `notEnabled` is worse 😂

Wes@notwes.bsky.social

Small but impactful design decision: ❌ disabled: true ✅ enabled: false Don't use negative boolean options. They lead to confusion and mistakes. Mainly I am saying *I* make mistakes with these, it breaks my brain for some reason. Please be nice to me and stay positive!

@tkdodo.eu talked about what happens when Sentry started using agents more, what they're doing to make them more effective.

@sentry.io is a real one for this! $1M to open source maintainers this year 🙏🎉 for many years, Sentry was the only company using my software to actually donate to me. if nothing else, it was a big reason i decided to join the team! blog.sentry.io/another-year...

blog.sentry.ioWe just gave a million dollars to Open Source maintainersSentry raised its Open Source budget from $750,000 to $1,000,000 this year. Here's why, and how we split it among maintainers and foundations.

🚢 Shipped 18 PRs in @tanstack.com Query today (closing 3 issues). I also closed 11 PRs without merging and banned 3 users from the org for being automations and/or spammers. Seems like a good evening

I run 3 agents in parallel, have about a dozen PRs open at all times, a lot of them stacked onto each other, and my "to review" tab group in the browser is at 13. That's just for sentry. My queue in TanStack (issues, discussions and PRs I should look at) is at 95 I'm tired. How do y'all do this?

Probably this 😂

Vienna next month. 👀 HalfStack is a day of people showing what they’ve built, trying things that seemed like a good idea, meeting curious web people, and hanging around afterwards. Plus the JS Pub Quiz and karaoke. 🎤 📅 16 November 2026 📍 Ankersaal, Vienna 🎟️ halfstackconf.com/vienna/tickets

In 3 weeks, I will be at @reactadvanced.gitnation.org, talking about the challenges we have with a growing codebase at @sentry.io, how these got worse with more volume due to AI and how we try to fix it. Hope to see you there for my talk "Scaling Frontend Codebases for Humans and AI" on October 23!

reactadvanced.comReact Conference In London, October 23 & 26, 2026The main React Conference in the UK, running every year in London. Focused on Advanced React topics from the React Core team, framework authors and case studies from top engineers.

I honestly only signed up to bluesky after I got the invite code to "secure my username". That didn't age well 😂

Curious as I think on this more. Did you know what atproto was when you joined Bluesky? I personally did not, I had heard it was maybe open source and a different micro blogging experience that was also familiar.

What would you like to read more about (blogposts) or hear more about (conf talks) regarding TanStack Query? Looking for inspiration ✨

💯

In the era of AI, our network is what makes us valuable, and the work more enjoyable. (The work is mysterious and important). Go to more conferences.

Never let an LLM speak for you!

Lars@webpro.nl

Way to go! And out of 22 PRs in this release, you're literally the only one that at least wrote the description yourself..

I helped with the rsbuild plugin now that sentry uses it 🙌. Happy to be part of this release 🫶

✂️ Knip v6.40.0 is out Another fine community release by 11 contributors! 🧡 Lots of tuning on plugins like vite, playwright, rsbuild. New plugins: jasmine, osls. Changelogs: github.com/webpro-nl/kn... Knip: knip.dev

Guess what? I'll be there 🫶

Missing the community? Join us at our November 12 meetup, where we’ll dive deeper into what it takes to run this kind of event, including what worked wonderfully, and what we’ll adjust going forward. We’re an association after all. Let’s geek out together.

TanStack Charts 1.0 is here 🎉 Small bundles, fast updates, and charts you don’t have to outgrow. Start with a line and see where it takes you, or just simply tell your agent to "use Tanstack Charts"! tanstack.com/charts

Note: This is just happening because sponsorship payment method changed from yearly to monthly or so and Github sent us all a bunch of notifications like that. It's funny but there's really nothing to see 😁

This is tough to read, so please do and share! MSW is too good to go and too big to die! > Sadly, it remains severely underfunded and a few sponsor cancelations away from becoming abandonware. [...] > As it stands now, I don't see MSW having a future.

Artem Zakharchenko@kettanaito.com

With MSW 3.0 released this week, I want to try something new to make the project financially sustainable. I wrote an open letter about the project, its history, and impact on the ecosystem. I ask for five minutes of your time to read it. Thank you. mswjs.io/sponsor

🧠 My brain has as many outages as GitHub, which kinda makes sense. The infra struggles as much under the AI slop load as our brains do...

My bad for adding the "help wanted" label to issues before AI was a thing. Now we get spammed with "contributions" because of it. Lesson learned, no help wanted 🫡

This happens almost every time when I use ChatGPT. Hydration is hard but if you allow inputs "before JavaScript" you better get it right! If you can’t, just don’t allow me to input anything. I’ll take that loading spinner over this experience all day any day ...

It seems to happen whenever they push an update that invalidates the cache and I need to download JS again ...
