Time for a new intro! This is the official Bluesky CoffeeGeek account, maintained by several CG writers and editors. Nearly 100% of what we post is coffee related; any non-coffee post starts with #NCP. We're here to answer #coffee and #espresso questions, post about new content, and to interact!

Coming this weekend, to CoffeeGeek! One of the most detailed How Tos ever: a How To Host a Coffee Tasting Party guide, by our Senior Contributor Natia Simmons! So feature packed and rich, it probably should be a full blown Feature Guide, and not just a How To. Stay tuned, and visit CG this weekend!

In our 24 years online at CoffeeGeek, we have never published a truly "political" article before. That changed last month when we published one of the most important articles we've ever written. Silence is No Longer an Option: Why Coffee Geeks Must Reject Fascism.

Why is decaf suddenly expensive? It involves a Colombian processing plant, a paint-stripper ban, and a supply chain that broke in several places at once. By Zuzanna Kaminski #coffeefeed #espressofeed coffeegeek.com/opinions/sta...

It's been a while since I busted out the awesomesauce Quest M3 coffee roaster, but did so today, doing three "tuning" roasts to re-familiarize myself with this fantastic device. A bit dark, but it was a tuning roast. 2nd and 3rd turned out better. Absolutely love it. The "Flair 58+ 2" of roasters.

Working on our blog introduction post for the xBloom Studio. I literally spent 30 minutes massaging the intro. (writers out there will totally get where I'm coming from on that). Had the idea, just couldn't make the words flow... Until they did.

Also deserves a fresh promo: from 2024, Natia dives into how lower espresso doses can have pleasant results in your home coffee adventures, including less caffeine. She wants all the taste nuance (ie, not soup), with a lighter caffeine hit. #espressofeed coffeegeek.com/blog/techniq...

Working on our Snapshot Review of the Flair 2GO travel espresso brewer. Some to love. Some to really not love. And with the influx of USB-C espresso brewers, is this now a bygone era product?

coffeegeek.comSilence is No Longer an Option: Why Coffee Geeks Must Reject FascismWe're taking a stand, uncovering how fascist policies are reshaping the coffee world and beyond, and what you can do to change the course of history for the better.

I will note, we had a recent flood of article comments made by fascist supporters; I discovered the article was posted to a pro-fascist (aka proTrump) reddit group, and a bunch of them decided to flood the comments on the article. Most (full of threats and swearing) were removed. Some, I did not.

I will add that no one that I know of in the coffee and espresso influence sphere has done anything like this. I am ashamed of myself for not doing so with my platform. But that's going to change, soon. We all need to speak up.

The Kruve Propel is the well deserved defacto standard when it comes to espresso cups for tasting and evaluation. But they are big, and fragile. Kinto of Japan has hit the market with several double walled glass cups that could bring the fight to Kruve. We're evaluating them for CoffeeGeek soon.

Another beastie on the review bench for a Snapshot Review on CoffeeGeek: the Flair Wizard, the nifty milk steaming solution they have for their lever machines, that works on all sorts of heat sources, including some quirky Asian-sourced butane burners we bought for the task. Full Review coming soon!

I am absolutely gutted by the news of Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle. I'm Gen-X, and Reiner was the creator of the absolute finest films of my lifehood. I still think Princess Bride is the most perfect movie ever made. This is so sad. RIP Rob and Michelle. You will be missed, dearly.

Yeah, I knew I had one of these buried deep in one of the coffee gear boxes in the basement. I bought this on eBay, probably 20 years ago now. Still has original spoons, cups and manual. Brews horrible espresso. @jameshoffmann.bsky.social would know. #coffeefeed #espressofeed
