We roast speciality coffee very very well. We give: 1% of all our revenue to Women's Aid 1% to origin projects 1% to local projects 1% to staff = > 30% of profits Big businesses could easily run similarly. www.imbibe.ie

A reintroduction as more people seem to be here. We're a small independent coffee company with 5 full time staff. We've brought coffees to Ireland from producers who are genuinely among world's best. The business however was always meant to be about more than just selling coffee for profit.

So much for An Post's reassurance that you'd be able to pick up parcels locally after they centralise the sorting offices. For people who don't have a car, this will be more than a two hour round trip. Join your local campaign to keep your sorting office.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

Ryan Tubridy is a smug and privileged asshole. He’s the essence of entitlement. He was caught with his greedy hands in till and was cancelled. He needs to stay cancelled. These assholes keep trying to reinvent themselves. Needs to be stamped on. Hard.

Why is our finance minister having secret meetings with Progress Ireland… and what is Progress Ireland in the first place? Consider it a Collison cutout.

It's funny to me to see fascist bot posts under the French students protests saying Europe is no longer European or France is no longer France and I'm like buddy protesting is the most French thing these kids can do. Half of them are holding signs invoking the spirit of May 68...

See also buying a Tesla in 2026. Posted about this during the week and was amazed at pushback from people with "progressive" in their bios.

I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

Everyone should go and see this movie. Fuck Elon Musk. Resist.

Alex Gibney@alexgibneyfilm.bsky.social

Note: TikTok - 15% owned by Musk pal Larry Ellison - permanently banned our "Musk" the movie account on the platform. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politic...

TikTok suspended the Musk film account and Meta froze the No Kings account - it's almost like letting fascist-aligned oligarchs own all our means of communication was somehow a bad idea.

Cherki and Semenyo on the bench for City. Not content with cheating only in the Premier League, they're now making a mockery of Fantasy Football too. There needs to be an asterix beside this years FPL:).

As a member of the public, I support striking workers today. Public sector workers are woefully undervalued, and I thought we learned that lesson during the COVID lockdowns, but apparently we need a reminder. I want workers to be paid fairly for the valuable services they provide. Yup the unions!

By January the governement will have spent more on giving in to the demands of fuel protestors than they've provided for in pay rises for the whole public sector. ( €1.2 bn )

I, a member of the public, do not wish to see my fellow members of the public who teach my children, heal me if I am sick, who administer the state and so on left worse off due to inflation each year.

Looks like the folk who have "I got this before Elon went crazy" stickers can now take them off their cars. Tesla was Ireland's biggest selling car in September. Not buying a Tesla seems such a low bar. Such a long list of shitty things that guy stands for. Appears a lot of people just don't care.

SIPTU has a clear message for public servants scheduled to work from home on Wednesday. Don't do it. Don't open your laptop. Don't check your emails. Don't teach online. Don't answer your phone. A strike only works when the work stops. Remote work is work. #UnionStrike

We give up 4% of all you spend with us. In each of last 4 years it's worked out to below or more in terms of profits. We stopped taking on cafe customers. We've enough. You can buy our coffee imbibe.ie/pages/shop but it'd be even better if you could tell people about our business model. Thank you.

In ‘Am I taking crazy pills’, volume 6, I find the rehabilitation of Micheal Jackson wild. So many people saw the movie. My 13 year olds play his music a lot. Doesn’t seem too long ago that we believed victims in situations where allegations were numerous but it's now like nothing ever happened.

What a weird world we live in - Ukraine hits a data centre deep in Russia - Irish twitter users see racist posts about IPAS centres in Offaly fall off a cliff

And now the best part: Bot traffic from the #Yandex network has plunged to near zero following the strike on its Vladimir data center. Bot traffic includes automated requests from search crawlers, scrapers and other online services. Twitter must be a ghost town by now.

Business pages spend much time discussing growth. They never seem to discuss when growth is no longer worthwhile for staff (growth is seldom shared), communities or anyone else outside owners/shareholders. We don't seem to celebrate anything other than growth. It's like not growing is failing.

What if business owners decided they had enough and didn't want to pursue growth? Growth can be negative and more often than not changes the business or what in some cases what it stood for. Can businesses be about more than profit. Should they be and what is enough? I think about "enough" a lot.

I can't believe It's almost 40 years since Wall Street was released. We haven't gotten any better. Gordon Gekko's famous line of "Greed, for lack of a better word, is good" is still the guiding principle of the world's business leaders. We haven't evolved. If anything, things are far worse.
