No words……. 😔

Good morning and Happy New Year Wednesday to everyone who is ready to work hard, work smart, and to make 2025 our bitch. It's a brand new year. This fight is just getting started. WE GOT THIS. ✊💪

Of course US oligarch Elon Musk is backing the pro-Russia, pro-China, anti-democracy remnants of the Nazi party in Germany. He's a Nazi, it's only natural for him.

Bye bye creative sector? This feels like ridiculous overreach. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

If we all find 100 posts to like every day, engagement and good will on @bsky.app grows exponentially. Is it worth a few minutes to make the platform stronger ?

The easiest solution to bots is just to ignore or block them. They get everywhere and they will get even worse as AI advances.

We all disappear into our phones…. Full of misinformation right?!

🦋🦋

I get the pushback to Bluesky in that it further bifurcates our media ecosystem. But at this point, Twitter’s content moderation is so nonexistent and its verified users so extreme that the choice becomes either move away from Twitter or be subjected to straight up 4chan nazi bile on a daily basis.

Isn't it just so much better on Bluesky?

Yes misinformation is a serious problem on social media and is getting worst…..

Others have noted it but I will too: The big reason Bluesky is so hot right now is that the people who add value to social media - the frequent posters in specific fields - are here now, talking to each other and creating the "spectator value" that draws users and attention.

Why 2.5 Million Users Are Leaving 'X' for Bluesky – Shocking Social Media Shift “Bluesky has exploded with 2.5 million new users in just one week, as many are leaving Twitter for a more open, decentralized platform”👏 www.bizzbuzz.news/internationa...

The hate that Hate produced….. Ppl forget!!! 😔

"Band Aid arrived on the centenary of the 1884 Berlin Conference. So in 1984, a charity song "for Africa" eclipsed the very moment Britain and other western states should have been repairing the damage done to Africa by colonisation" By me for @theguardian.com www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

I really don’t understand this whole ‘stay on Twitter and fight’ thing. You’re jousting with bots and reply guys and wading through ads it’s not Waterloo.

What Twitter/X became

I just learned that Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. An alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform (and yes it's really easy to transfer your lists from Goodreads to StoryGraph). You know, while we're moving things.

Two things we've seen from Trump in the past week: - Appointing superspreaders of misinformation to high office. - Announcing that social media media platforms will no longer be allowed to act against misinformation. It's going to be quite the ride.

Twitter/X has been dangerous for a long time but now we’re finally seeing just how wild things are going. Elon has genuinely lost his mind.
