Before, I had appetite for temporarily removing the bi-partisan VA redistricting commission. Now, I have the appetite to throw it in the bin completely. Either there are anti-gerrymandering policies at the federal level or we all go gloves off.

Instead of "when they go low, we go high" the Dems have finally figured out: "When they go low, we kick them in the face until they decide being so low isn't fun anymore." And I'm here for it.

That wonderful feeling when a wannabe "elder statesman" blocks you on Facebook because your critique hits a little too close to home. Almost as good as that first sip of coffee.

Trump admin better be generous with their retirement package. Bovino seems like the type of weasel who'd snitch in a heartbeat if he thought it would save him from eating soggy biscuits for the rest of his life.

When Trump said, "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?," I figured he was right. I never imagined that would extend to his thugs as well, though. Perhaps a bit naïve on my part.

Please read this thread. Jamelle has done a great job of explaining exactly why the actual logistics mean "Trump will cancel midterms" is a misplaced fear.

the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?

Republican Party of VA leadership is already starting its lies about the likely redistricting ballot measure. Completely ignores the temporary nature of the change and the context in which the measure is being suggested (i.e. offsetting other partisan gerrymanders). cardinalnews.org/2025/12/02/v...

Wading through the posts and comments in the various Virginia Republican Facebook groups makes me pretty confident that they won't ever be able to understand why they lost so badly. And if they can't understand their failure, they can't adjust and avoid future failure.

Listening to the Albemarle School Board meeting from a few days ago. Sheesh. Many speakers upset with Ms. Spillman's (the at large rep) objection to a TPUSA Club's invited speaker need to learn the difference between a difference of opinion and invalidation of another person's existence.

I can now proudly say that I've been blocked by my congressman on his not-official-but-he-uses-it-like-it-is Facebook page. Seems like John McGuire (VA-5) can handle many things, but suggesting he might cry over the election results in November is a bridge too far.

Thinking this morning of Sen. Mullin (R-Oklahoma) and his inability to understand a calendar. I look at the education rankings and realize OK is #48. They aren't even the best at being the worst...

LAPD’s Chief says they still have no idea what the military’s mission in LA is. There are no open deconfliction channels between the military and local law enforcement. Having multiple groups with weapons operating in the same area with no way to communicate is fucking insane.

Alright. If they can bring people back to face charges, they can bring them back to process correctly and then either actually properly deport (not render), bring criminal charges, or release. No more of this paying to house them at CECOT fascist bullshit.

Karoline Leavitt: never have I vacillated so much between wanting to punch someone in the face and give them a hug. Like, "friend, you were totally groomed by that guy"; but, also, "friend, fuck your lies."

Instead of having no tax on tips, why don't we force employers to pay a living wage that doesn't take tips into account? People in traditionally tipped industries will likely do better, we don't introduce confusion to the tax code, and we get a handle on a tipping culture that is out of control.

Not only is the Qatar plane gift an egregious violation of the emoluments clause, it is also a huge security risk. How many listening/other spy devices is Qatar going to put into the plane under all that gold? How sure are we that efforts to find and remove them will be successful?

An example of what Congressman John McGuire's team allows to remain in the comment section of his official Facebook page. The name redacted in green is an active commenter who claims to be a friend of John's. Note: some pretty vile and misogynistic language here if you decide to view the image.

I don't endorse violence or capital punishment. Instead, when this is all over an done with, could we march the fascists through the streets of D.C. Game of Thrones style? Like with the bells and cries of "Shame, Shame" and everything.

Reflecting on this question I sent this evening to a spiritual leader of our former church who has publicly supported RFK Jr.: What is required of us when our words lend credibility to those who deny the Imago Dei in those we are called to love?
