My thing about Israel constantly coming up in American political conversation is that it shouldn’t have fuck all to do with American politics and if you love a country more than fixing the issues in your own country of residence than you should fuck off and move there instead
But I guess the whole thing with liberal Zionism is that Israel is a perfect baby that’s never done anything wrong as opposed to the US which is an unruly older child who’s made a bunch of fuckups but you love it anyway
Seeing A Feature Film in the Film Festival tonight, hope to see more next year (I will probably get an access pass)
I mean hell I hope to BE in the film festival next year lol
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
There’s a new movie our next year and what the fuck is that going to sound like? Even the first movie sounded off in spots and Harry Shearer wasn’t even in it
I’m seeing people reacting by pointing out that he’s obviously wrong. I appreciate that, but it’s also a pointless exercise.
The problem isn’t that he’s wrong. The problem is that this is normal in American politics — and it’s been normal for a while.

my halloween costume this year is going as that guy that's been saying Trump is about to die for the past three years, i'm just going to walk up to people at parties and go "listen i worked as a geriatric nurse, it's ninety days at best here"
My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.
Okay now that I think about it I really didn’t like the way they dealt with Margaret White at the end of the Flanagan Carrie. Like I understand what he was going for but it ultimately robs Carrie of a good character moment and also catharsis (although leaves it more open for a sequel)
That being said I think people are overthinking the prom scene which I thought was pitch perfect. I also take it to be a good explanation of how psychic abilities work in the King Universe
“Danny isn’t here, Mrs. Torrance” etc
It doesn’t rob Carrie of agency because in the end she makes the choice for Emmaline to take over her body. And she also chooses to take revenge on Chris and Billy without possession
But how the show deals with Margaret hmm idk it doesn’t make me mad and doesn’t ruin the show for me but hmm
Hilarious and easily avoided fumble from Asha Sharma. It’s especially funny that this comes right after all those weirdly sycophantic pieces fawning over her as a genius business leader.

Yeah Carrie (Flanagan’s Version) was good idk it resonated with me but I can see why people didn’t like some of the choices especially in the last episode
