In all likelihood probably only two people on this whole site even know I had a webcomic, but I paused in 2020 when I was at the last chapter, so I'm working on finishing it this year. I have about 4 pages queued and more on the way.

As much as I believe comics are the Ultimate Form of storytelling to my own tastes, I'm starting to consider if I ought to try optioning my stories as prose books with several really nice illustrations instead. Just to see them actually get.... done.

working at a library has really given me the itch to publish again, but I can't quit my job in order to make comics full time- it just isn't very feasible for my financial and personal capacity. I LIKE prose writing a lot- just not as passionately as comics.

Today at the library I checked out Life, The Universe, and Everything to an old man who'd just turned in the previous Hitchhikers' book, and commented that I'd recently read them again and love Adams' writing. He told me he hasn't read in YEARS but stumbled across it on youtube.

Today was a pretty rough day overall but that was definitely the highlight. You see more and more people unable to escape the spoon-fed online sludge, old and young alike, so for a book to snap someone out of that and get them to the actual library for the first time in a long time... big big win.

in college, my screenwriting professor gave us this double-whammy of writing craft articles that changed my writing. quick easy essential reads!

when i draw the final pages of fledge fighters (there's about 30) I think I'm going to redo the last couple posted ones too. They were rushed, disjointed from the ones before, and I've always kind of hated how i shaded them lol.

Mundane dreams are the worst. Not because they're boring but because you immediately forget them until you're unloading your dishwasher and realize the perfectly sized drawer insert for your weirdly small silverware drawer is gone and- in fact- NEVER EVEN EXISTED.

This also happened to me a few years ago with a wrench. My adjustable wrench broke so I had to buy a new one. Since the adjustable one had busted, I figured I'd get a solid 15 mm (size I needed for my bike) and went through the whole process of picking it out.

long shot since nobody really follows me here but... my current comics project wrapped up at the same time as my day job laid me off. so if anyone has a lead on comics/illustration work or even just happens to want a commission... think of me?

When our NSF research is inevitably singled out on CSPAN in some congressional committee talking about government waste, please at least remember how gorgeous this art is from their different comics, and the positive impact it will have on undergraduate engineering education.

got some capellini spaghetti (extra thin) on a whim, thinking it would probably be annoying (breakage, easily overcooked into a gelatinous mass thanks to my... unskills). but it turns out this is freaking awesome for sauce distribution. so good.

This upcoming semester will be the first semester that our NSF-funded chemical engineering comics will be used in classrooms. I just want to briefly thank the team of artists who contributed on this effort - without them, this project would never have been possible. I remain endlessly grateful.
