"Bigger market bigger TV deal" Sounds like the owners should try work out a plan (amongst themselves) where they more equitably share industry revenues.

Trill@trilly.bsky.social

Why do they get more money than everyone else? Bigger market and a bigger tv deal. Every other sport has a cap. MLB isn’t any different. 🤷

Free speech includes free press. PERIOD. We stand with every single reporter who refuses to let this Administration decide what gets covered, what gets ignored, and what the American people get to see. The American people deserve the truth, and our reporters have the right to tell it.

I love a random, unexpected Dirk Pitt reference.

Grant Brisbee@grantbrisbee.bsky.social

This brings up a good point: kids these days have an entire industry to serve their mass paperback needs. They’ll never read every Dean Koontz book. They’ll never get to think “huh, this seems weird” when reading about Dirk Pitt’s sexy no-strings-attached congresswoman friend.

And I'd add that many players making the League minimum don't have long careers. And in fact, earn only a partial season of pay. Someone like Andres Chaparro has played in parts of 3 seasons and only accumulated 1.002 (1 year and 2 days) in service time.

Marc Normandin@marcnormandin.bsky.social

seeing people argue about how even MLB players making the minimum are making ridiculous $ that means they'd never have to work again and I don't think they realize that (1) no one is paying to watch you at your job and (2) bad MLB players are still in the 99th percentile in the world

#Walmart out to be required by law to lower prices to 15% of the pre-tariff levels until they have sold the appropriate amount of merchandise.

Y.O.L.O.0311@yolo0311.bsky.social

Walmart getting a 2.9 billion dollar tariff refund, that consumers actually paid, should piss everyone off. Especially since they have been increasing prices incrementally on staples like canned vegetables.

"Ass-over-teakettle" Thank you for making me think of my mom just now.

Craig Calcaterra@craigcalcaterra.bsky.social

Never used an ebike, a scooter, or any other mode of rental personal transportation. I question whether I ever will? I live in the city now but my neighborhood has brick streets and I can easily see myself going ass-over-teakettle on one of them things, even if it'd make life easier sometimes.

The only other time the US was so definitively beaten in a war was in Vietnam and that took a decade. America has been brought to its knees in Iran in a little over five months. Just a complete and total strategic defeat and not enough people are acknowledging it. bsky.app/profile/nyti...

Breaking News: Iran’s top security official said the Strait of Hormuz would not reopen until the U.S. met a sweeping list of demands, including withdraw the U.S. military from around Iran, pay war reparations and release frozen Iranian assets.

What kind of surgery are they performing on Greene?

Mark Sheldon@msheldon.bsky.social

Sorry folks for lack of updates. Two canceled flights and had to drive from Cincinnati to Washington. Here is a first story on Greene with more to come. Also the start of the game at Nationals Park will be delayed by rain. #reds www.mlb.com/news/hunter-...

I'm not a Union painter, but is very there's significant complexity when willing on surface that huge. Extra levels of quality control that, obviously, weren't followed.

If you’ve ever worked with epoxy you know it’s pretty darned tough. It’s possible to cut the flexible type as I’m assuming they used here but that won’t make it come up in big sheets; you’d get smaller flakes. It sticks really well if the surface is prepped correctly which this evidently was not
