If UB products were limited to commander precons, one eternal legal draft set every other year, and Secret Lair reskins, that would solve everything. No more balancing UB sets for standard and Modern. UB products should be like Doctor Who or Fallout. That’s the sweet spot.

I really don’t get why this was a double-faced card. Sir Didymus being a doll wasn’t a plot point. It just showed that many characters from Labyrinth had analogs in Sarah’s room. It’s not like Didymus is a toy that comes to life and turns into a dog.

When I started playing commander, I ran Distant Memories as a way to counter my opponent casting Spell Crumple on my commander and losing them for good! (This was back when Chaos Warp effects didn’t let you put your commander back into the command zone. They were just gone.)

I don’t get the backlash over this drop. This wasn’t a repeat of the Monster Hunter drops. Swan Song? Underworld Breach? These are all solid inclusions. I never thought K-Pop Demon Hunters would be a one and done. I always figured it would be like Miku, with a new drop every few months.

Secret Lair x KPop Demon Hunters: How It’s Done enters the Corn Maze Superdrop on October 12. The crowd's already chanting for more. Good thing we've got more planned! Stay tuned.

Thoughts on Empower Jace in commander? I tend to avoid adding planeswalkers to my commander decks, as they’re so hard to protect, unless you specifically build around them. But Reality Fracture is making me consider planeswalkers in ways I never have before.

With only minus abilities, a Jace token is just delayed card draw or card filtering. But Way of the Pyromancer? Now you have turn two mana ramp in red! Or Sanctum Lurker? You can tick Jace up each turn, and the planeswalker doesn’t leave with zero loyalty unless you first get rid of the Lurker!

“Miss a drop and it’s gone?” Apparently not. They should call this reprint “Zeta set Chronicles.” If WotC can reprint Secret Lair drops, what’s to stop them from reprinting Dandan, or Goblinstorm? What does this do to the confidence of drops as collectibles? magic.wizards.com/en/news/anno...

Is there a market for this? I say this as an avid journal writer who already records most of my commander games. I still don’t know if I would want a separate journal just for writing down commander games.

At the Reality Fracture prerelease. I woke up this morning at 5am in a tent in the woods. I’ve been driving all afternoon to get home. Barely had enough time to shower and make it hear on time. I can barely keep my eyes open. Wish me luck!

In 60 card formats, running four copies of a card gives you a 40% chance of seeing that card in your opening hand. Commander used to be a singleton format. If you wanted to play lands from your graveyard in 2015, your only option was Crucible of Worlds.

Running seven redundant copies of an effect in your commander deck is the same as running a playset in 60 card formats. Both give you a 40% chance of pulling one in your opening hand. As more redundant effects are printed, commander is becoming less of a singleton format.

And it was the only effect of its kind, so you couldn’t expect to draw it with any consistency. Now if you’re in a green deck, you have seven other options you can run in addition to Crucible of Worlds to get that effect.

The first ever full-art, textless Sol Ring… and it has She-Ra on it. 😅 There’s a ‘fun’ piece of Magic trivia. “The first ever full art, textless Sol Ring featured what character from Universes Beyond?”

From the He-Man Secret Lair drops. Why? It’s not even a frog. 😭 Oh well, if this gets more people to build Gitrog decks, I’ll take it.

After piloting the Gitrog, Ravenous Ride for more than a year, I wanted to share the lessons learned and the changes made. I also discuss what makes it the most underrated landfall commander. youtu.be/sA3EptAFjxA?...

If your deck folds to a Blood Moon, you’re not running enough basic lands. If Drannith Magistrate shuts down your deck, you need to run more interaction. That being said, I don’t think MLD effects should be allowed below bracket 4. If they were, it would bloat the game changers list.
