Is it weird to be excited about a DPA sub processor update? If only Linear just bought Pierre and brought back the git hosting product 💭

me: professionals are leveraging AI with care and rigor to produce better software than we ever could before steve yegge: I spend a $100k a month on compounding inscrutable hallucinations and I cover the costs by telling ai startups how to do the same

Still see so many people choosing substack, kinda expected that to slow (esp in my bsky following feed crowd) Ghost, kit, other things exist! Is the (purported) growth engine via their network/app just too tempting?

never have I read "land" and "shape" in daily reading/writing than I now do using Claude. almost worst than the emdash abuse.

NEW: University of Washington researchers planned to have preschool teachers wear cameras that would record everything they saw from a first-person perspective, including the children they were teaching, then use that footage to develop AI models. Crucially, it was opt-out, rather than opt-in.

"golden age of benefits"...when was that, exactly?

Bill Grueskin@bgrueskin.bsky.social

These two things are completely unrelated, so don’t even think of trying to make a connection between them

am i the only one who rearranges "to" and "cc" email addresses on long group threads to match the intended recipient of each message?

always seeing mentions of wisprflow and monologue (both solid apps) but gotta shout out voiceink: open source, one-time payment, app and site-based post-processing features. really solid, been my daily driver for months and works great

we talked at the gym they’re really serious this time

I am introducing the Cut It Out And This Time I Really Mean It bill. It provides an additional $57 billion to the murder goons but they will agree to wear business casual Monday through Thursday and if they do any murders they have to put a dollar in this jar.

the review problem is real. tinkering on tools/process here but still feeling stuck in the old paradigm, doesn't quite fit the new world

iury souza@iurysouza.dev

Still on the topic of who's reviewing all this code: From @kentbeck.com article > Code review made sense when humans wrote code at human speed. Now I'm on a beach with a genie, generating faster than anyone could review. The old model broke. What replaces it? tidyfirst.substack.com/p/party-of-o...

Oh phew the rule of law

Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor. One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

missing Campsite pretty much daily

Kyle Conarro@conarro.com

With Campsite winding down 🥲, we've moved our team comms back to Notion+Slack. I would *love* to ditch Slack but we do need a chat layer, so it'll have to do for now. https://www.campsite.com/blog/campsite-winding-down

Well deserved! Definitely recommend checking out Muse, been using it for years.

Allume (formerly Muse)@allumeapp.bsky.social

Apple has chosen Muse as today's App of the Day! Every day is a good day for cozy thinking: apps.apple.com/us/story/id1...

"vibe coding" doesn't it any way describe how I feel when using AI for coding. "vibe" sounds much more fun. maybe I'm doing it wrong (or doing it too "right").

Where I come from, "story" is often used as a euphemism for "lie". E.g. "are you telling a story?" == "are you lying?" Weird choice for the Post tagline, but perhaps apt.

I feel like they had a meeting and decided “we have to be dumber.”

The use of the smiley face emoji sure is something.

Kara Swisher@karaswisher.bsky.social

The @wordpress.com platform was where @waltmossberg.bsky.social and I started All Things D and later Recode, because it was so good and Matt Mullenweg was always very helpful. But what a pathetic turn for him into a stone cold asshole.

A really solid platform for anyone looking to buy

Matt Wensing@mattwensing.bsky.social

Feels unlikely with 78 followers on here, but ... We are fielding offers from anyone that might be interested in buying Summit as tech ($0 MRR). A very well-featured low-code platform with 5 years of ideas baked in. If you or someone you know might be interested, holler.
