The halls, clubs and venues that bring us together matter too much for their future to be decided without us. Community ownership gives the people who use them the power to keep their doors open.

Giving communities a stronger voice in their future is at the heart of co-operative politics. Changes to investment rules will give local priorities greater weight, recognising how housing, transport and skills work together to improve lives.

We all want clean water, healthy rivers and confidence that our bills support a service we can trust. Baggy Shanker MP asked Ministers to explore mutual ownership of water companies, giving communities more say over a service we all depend on.

When we lose someone we love, we should be able to trust they’ll be treated with care and respect. Rachael Maskell MP raised concerns from Co-op Funeralcare and other providers in Parliament, calling for stronger regulation to protect that dignity.

Next year marks 100 years of co-operation between Labour and the Co-operative Party. Labour MP Becky Gittins has called for Parliament to celebrate that history and debate what the co-operative movement can deliver next.

When someone we love needs care, we want to know they’re in good hands. As work begins on a National Care Service, meet the team at Be Caring in Leeds, where staff own the business and co-operative values guide the care they provide. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrtY...

Power belongs closer to people, and Saturday’s Wales Co-operative Party Conference made the case for giving communities across Wales the powers they need to shape their own futures, rather than concentrating decisions at the centre. Diolch to everyone who joined us!

Care co-ops should help shape the National Care Service. Andrew Pakes MP put that idea to Care Minister Alison McGovern MP, who confirmed co-operative values are part of the Government’s thinking, empowering people and ensuring their voices are heard.

Families should not have to exhaust a lifetime of savings while private equity extracts profit from social care. Jack Abbott MP argues that a new National Care Service must put co-operative and not-for-profit care at its heart, putting people before profit.

Finance does not have to put distant shareholders first. On International Credit Union Day, we celebrate credit unions around the world proving that finance can be owned by its members, rooted in communities and run in their interests.

Yesterday, Labour & Co-operative MP Jack Abbott asked our first Labour & Co-operative Prime Minister to put our principles at the heart of a new National Care Service. Because social care should serve the people who need and provide it, not those seeking to profit from it.

It's time to put people before profit. For too long, people like my grandparents have had to exhaust their savings and pensions to receive the care they need. We need to fix our broken care system and put co-operative principles at the heart of a new National Care Service. My question to the PM 👇

Co-operative ideas ran through Labour Conference. From businesses owned by workers and communities to community-owned energy and new models for public services, Labour made the case for sharing power and ownership.

That case is bigger than any one policy. It is a belief that public services should put people before profit, and that wealth and power should not be reserved for those who already have both.

And for the first time, our movement has one of our own in Downing Street. Britain gave the world the co-operative movement. With a Labour and Co-operative Prime Minister, its values of solidarity and shared power have never been closer to the heart of government.

Today, we’ve confirmed our first Labour & Co-operative candidates for the 2027 local elections. As our electoral pact with Labour turns 100, they’ll champion shared ownership, stronger communities and more power for people to shape the future of the places they call home.

With ownership back on the agenda after Labour Conference, Interim General Secretary Cait Prowle makes the case for putting more power in more hands. Who owns Britain matters. It decides whose interests come first, who benefits and who gets a say.

We’re stronger when we own things together. Our first Labour & Co-operative Prime Minister Andy Burnham writes for Metro on putting power back in people’s hands. Co-operative ownership gives workers, customers and communities a real stake and a real say.

Ownership matters. New research from Persuasion UK following Andy Burnham’s conference speech suggests arguments about economic power, public control and ownership resonate with voters. That conversation should include sharing ownership and putting more power in more hands.

Could you be the next General Secretary of the Co-operative Party? 🐝 We’ve got big plans for the future, and co-operative values and principles have never been more relevant or more needed. We’re looking for someone to take the Party forward.

Our movement is one of radical optimism. Not seeing the world just as it is, but how it could be. Cait Prowle delivers our Sororal Greetings at Labour Party Conference.

“A union of nations that gave trade unions and the co-operative movement to the world.” Our first Labour and Co-operative Prime Minister on the Britain he loves: a country of solidarity, not separation.

Generations of Labour & Co-operative campaigners have worked to put our shared values into power. Today, for the first time ever, a Labour & Co-operative Prime Minister addresses Labour Party Conference. 🌹🐝

Good morning from Day 3 of Labour Conference! Today, we’ll hear the first ever Leader’s Speech from a Labour and Co-operative Prime Minister. Come visit us at stand A8, and learn more about our ideas, our policies and standing as a Labour and Co-operative candidate. 🌹🐝

The clean energy transition works best when communities own it. From the Local Power Plan investing in community-owned energy, to billions for communities and local authorities to upgrade homes, Miatta Fahnbulleh is turning that co-operative principle into practice.

The first Labour and Co-operative Prime Minister is a significant moment in our movement’s history and its future. Thanks to John Healey for recognising this moment, and we look forward to working with you to grow the co-op sector and boost local growth in every postcode. 🐝

Good morning from Labour Party Conference Day 2 – we kicked off the day with a visit to our stall from Rochdale's very own Paul Waugh MP! 🐝 Rochdale is where our movement started, and we're proud that Paul is the first Co-operative MP to represent the historic seat.

Meet our new interim General Secretary, Caitlin Prowle! 🐝 We caught up with Cait to ask her an important question: why should Labour members join the Co-operative Party too?

What’s next for communities policy? This afternoon, we brought a panel together to discuss how communities can have more say over the places they live and the support they need to put their ideas into practice.
