I am so pissed at Native Instruments. I pay good money for a product and their stupid "Native Access" app fucks up the install for Massive XL, and pops up an error message that immediately disappears. Not cool. Not the Native Instruments I started with 30 years ago...

ime I've seen a Trump coin in the wild, on a friend's FB feed. He got it in change from a vending machine. What is great about it is it looks like it was a shitty #AISlop design. What do you reckon that's how the designed it? I'm surprised they didn't make it with typos in the stampers.

For all X one of two things are true about what @mattyglesias.bsky.social says: X is obvious & he's pretending it's profound. X is clearly wrong in ways he's unwilling to admit.

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

"Anything worth doing is worth doing badly" - Terry Hulik, composer & music teacher. He once put up a full production of Smetena's opera "The Bartered Bride" at Santa Robles High. It was as magnificent as it was amateurish & slapdash.

“I don’t think being good at things is the point of doing them.” — KURT VONNEGUT

I love Vonnegut but this kind of story, while inspiring, leaves out the fact that he in fact was a winner at the author game. Successful artists are super annoying when they "inspire" people by saying is beside the point, even though they themselves have themselves are winners.

Many people do all the same exact things as Vonnegut, with equal innate talent, and get nowhere. Maybe they're consoled by the work being the thing, even if they're facing cans at a grocery store to survive.

I keep making music for what it does for me, even if I'm stunningly unsuccessful at it. But when a successful artist says that my situation is as valid as theirs, I want to tell them, "No it fucking well is not!"

The way the Medicare scam calls with recordings faking real callers are so pitiful. One of my more useless audio production skills is I can tell it's a recording from 2vseconds of the recorded ambience. I especially love the "call center ambience" bed they put under the robo calls.

I know I'm shouting in the void & no one gives a shit what I have to say. I'm OK with that. But I'd like to get follows from real people I can interact with. Way too many are "people" with OnlyFans (no shame if you're real & on OF), or trying to promote stuff I couldn't care less about.
