So I met a fan at a con this weekend and when they realized who I was (I was out of suit) started visibly shaking 🥺 Which is very sweet, but please don’t be anxious to meet me! Maybe it’s the copious amounts of cold medicine I’ve been taking this week to fight off the con crud, but last week, meeting my longtime friend’s husband, seeing my friend’s shrine, and finally getting pictures of our suits together, feels like it was a dream.

Last week was emotional, but not upsetting. I cried a lot, but I wasn't sad. It honestly feels like a weight has been lifted off my chest after more than two years.

I always said I wanted to reach a point where I'd smile when I thought of my friend instead of breaking down. It's probably too early to say if I'm fully there yet, but after getting those pictures, meeting his partners, petting his tail for way too long, it really feels like that place is in sight.

Thinking back on it feels like remembering a dream I had. I don't know if it's because it's something I literally dreamt about for so long that I never thought would actually happen, so that's the only way my brain can process it, or if that's just what closure feels like?

We never got the chance to meet in person before you passed, and that still sits heavy with me. But, even though it wasn’t how we’d planned it, getting these photos of our suits together meant everything to me, and I can’t thank your husband enough for helping make it happen on your birthday.
