Took a bit of a breather today. Ordered Sichuan from a neighborhood place, walked one of my dogs to go pick it up. It was a beautiful day outside. Played some games. Chatted with some friends. I'm feeling recharged.

It’s absolutely frying me that the new season of The Pitt is tackling how dumb Gen AI is.

2XKO is officially out! A lot of great people worked very hard to bring the best game they could to you. This is the game that made me learn more than I ever wanted to know about console certification. I hope everyone has a lot of fun with it!

If I ever kick off and do my own little game, the UI is going to be so obnoxiously inspired by PC-98 games that no one will want to play it. And I think that's beautiful.

2026 is the year of MMOs, I guess, as it's only 19 days in and I'm already juggling WoW, FF14, and DQX. It does feel good to be back to my roots, though. In my waking dreams I see Crushbone, Anarchy Online, Asheron's Call, and Nexus:TK.

The way Expedition 33 combat feels like a turn based Souls game is just… it. I was forged in the fires of Father Gascoigne so that I could land Expedition Counters.

Suikoden 1 HD Remaster in the books. I remember long ago, playing it for the first time and being amazed at how sprawling the world felt and how serious the consequences were. It still holds up! There’s nothing like uniting 108 drifting Stars of Destiny to a cause greater than themselves.

Oh dear this stack is worth much more than the last time I pulled them out.

Went into the cold storage to grab the Duo-R. It still works great, and the RGB mod looks like a dream through the Retrotink 5x.

A couple of times a month, I get together with two buddies who live across the country and we play a random old MMO together while chatting on Discord. Recently it’s been a Guild Wars 2, but tonight we did a FFXI private server. It’s always the highlight of my week when we can make it work.
