Cheerful, apathetic, cheerfully apathetic. Mostly. (He/him)

Ideally, that plot doesn't involve Kyle, until well after it's over! JESSICA CRUZ: Oh, Kyle, I'm so sorry: your girlfriend isn't dead anymore, but she's SUPER evil. I saw her eat a puppy. KYLE: ...what? GUY: Oh, geez, you're not the rookie anymore, Kyle. Suck it up and stop crying.

Memo to DC: you have the chance to redeem a story so bad one of the best writers in the business got their start calling it out. Don’t bleep it up

I'm a native Montanan, and I hate to see that juiceless couchfucker on my home turf. Then I remember that Montana's big get from the Trump admin was gonna be...a bombing range. Ooh. Don't let 'em say Daddy never gave you nothin'.

Damnit. "The Deadly Years" was playing when I found out. Not a great one, but great bits from Koenig there. I hope they ran out of samples, buddy.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

I wish Larry Hama had done dozens of those "dinner with Serpentor" strips. DR. MINDBENDER: (Increasingly agitated) You can't possibly be telling me the Battle of Agincourt was decided by a game of horse! SERPENTOR: No, no, no, of course not...but yes.

I accidentally turned on the local news: they had the same breaking news theme going that they would for a new pope or a new war, because two local ball players were getting another year to play. Which...I'm sure that's good for them, but settle down.

I want the radiation they shot Steve Lombard full of for his bum knee! If it creates an invisible..ish...monster to hassle the rest of you, that's just a bonus.

Economics is astrology for the unfuckable. Same bullshit, but with much lower showmanship requirements.

Man, I'm not usually a "Return" guy, but... OK, you can probably draw a straight line from Bob Uecker to Liberty Biberty, but still.

This, only dumber. Much, much dumber. (Ideally, more empathy would be a good thing; but lines of badly written code are being given more grace than huge batches of people, so...)

No matter where you shop, you're getting screwed by Amazon. Amazon has found a way to make everything you buy - at Target, at a mom-and-pop shop, even direct from the manufacturer - more expensive. And they're not the only one: Expedia's done the same thing, but for hotel rooms.

OK, I kinda feel bad for this crack today; since turns out Nicholas Cage has good principles and refused Amazon's AI BS. It's fun to have fun, but he seems like a good guy!

Typically my thought is the cast didn't cost out somehow...but, can't you kind of lowball Nicholas Cage?

In one of the old V miniseries, there's an industrial accident, where a worker's hand is frozen--and then shattered. (At least, that's how I remember it!)

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

I wish we had got like 6 movies of Kirsty repeatedly somehow conning her way out of trouble like she was Bugs Bunny.

It's that time of year again... Time for me to laugh as I remember that Pinhead is the biggest loser of all the horror movie slasher guys. ACTUAL DIALOGUE FROM THE FIRST MOVIE:

PINHEAD: We no longer care what you have to say, Kirsty. We only care about your pain. KIRSTY: (shrugs) Alright, just thought you should know...eh, doesn't matter. PINHEAD: Know what, Kirsty? OTHER CENOBITES: (massive collective groan)

FEMALE CENOBITE: You can't give her an opening like that. She does this every time. PINHEAD: Patience. We have eternity to know her fl-- FEMALE: Aaaaand she's gone. It's like you're not even trying to rend her body with meathooks.

Am I capable? Cooking: good for me, you don't want it Whistle: Nope Draw: not enough Paint: not enough Swim: sure English: Now with swears! Dance: occasionally Sing: badly Drive: Yes Gifting: not bad Write: to amuse myself! Guitar: No Speaking: a delightful voice, that I'll never podcast

"Skydance"? You mean, falling? (Seriously, it's insanely frustrating that more and more things that I enjoy are now owned by entities that don't take care of them, or even seem to want to make money with them.)

Another of my favorite single issues ever--not just because it's great, but I used to read it to my kids! It is ridiculously fun to do the voices for. ("DO I NEED IT? IT'S MY AAAAAARM!")

Stupid, unserious thought; but this story made me wish vampires were real, so I could use them as a litmus test. Dumb, but hear me out:

ProPublica@propublica.org

Between 2015 and 2025, at least 15 children in an Idaho faith-healing sect died of treatable conditions. State law allows that to happen: Parents who say their faith prohibits giving their children lifesaving medical care can’t be prosecuted.

If their faith was true, then yes, it would repel a vampire. And I guess you can have your exemption or whatever. If it doesn't repel a vampire...well, I guess you're a vampire now. Judgement for the plaintiff, case closed!

Vampires are traditionally repelled by objects of faith, but only if the holder truly believes: if you were an atheist, you would not be able to stop a vampire with a cross. Also, as best seen in SALEM'S LOT, if your faith was weak or wavered, the cross wouldn't work.

I wish I could use vampires, to make these faith healers--and weirdoes crying for vaccine exemptions, or who don't wanna bake a cake for a gay wedding, all these losers--make them prove if not their faith, than their good faith. Do you REALLY believe, or is your god just an excuse or a scam?

whats a movie less than 60% on rotten tomatoes that you consider to be a perfect movie? like not a bit, genuinely perfect film. (Y'know, I don't think I like Rotten Tomatoes.)
