Today's jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich don’t create jobs or grow the economy. What's required is investment in working people — and better wages. When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs. Remember this.

Maybe if he does, the richest people would finally be upset enough to do something about him. I’m sick of hearing about protecting buildings instead of people. #abolishice

Returning hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen wages to hundreds of working people is ignored by our local media while they publish the press releases of big corporations who regularly commit the same kind of wage theft. This is what progressive governance looks like 👇

When Pete Hegseth polled top commanders about cutting a program designed to protect civilians during military operations, he bet they’d back his view that the program was “woke” and out of step with “maximum lethality,” officials told ProPublica. Instead, every commander rebuffed the idea.

"There are times to listen and treasure what the voters are telling you. Then there are times to understand that what the voters are telling you shouldn't necessarily guide how you think about your offense." @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social argues Democrats should talk about Trump's corruption:

Again, our vote by mail system is secure and accurate. And that's precisely the issue the MAGA GOP both here and in the Other Washington have with it: it accurately counts all the votes and shows that the MAGA agenda of raising our costs while cutting billionaires' taxes isn't popular.

seattletimes.com‘Zero doubt’: The story of WA’s 100% accurate mail-in electionPresident Donald Trump and the Republicans keep maligning mail-in voting, saying it’s slipshod and corrupt. But one such local election just got a perfect score, Danny Westneat writes.
Fuse Washington@fusewashington.org

The MAGA regime and WA GOP both want to take away our freedoms to vote & have our votes counted so that they can rule over us like dictators. They're attacking our secure vote by mail system not because there's anything wrong with it, but precisely because it works. They can only win if they cheat.

Kroger, which wants to buy yet ANOTHER grocery chain: -Ranks among the largest companies with employees dependent on Medicaid & SNAP -Paid its CEO $14M last year, 417x its median worker's pay of just $34,552 -Spent $12.3B on stock buybacks since 2019 This is what corporate greed looks like.

School meals should be free for everybody. Charging children to eat somewhere they are legally required to be for the entire day is crazy.

Remember: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class. You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

Breaking: The president has signed an executive order on mail voting. He has no lawful authority to write the rules that govern our elections. He tried a year ago; we sued him; we won. A year later, he has tried again. He can expect the same result. 1/2

This has been the GOP's "starve-the-beast" scheme for nearly 50 years. Meanwhile, millions suffer and struggle to get ahead as the rich get richer. See the problem here?

Unusual Whales@unusualwhales.bsky.social

BREAKING: Just five minutes before Trump's announcement to halt the attacks on Iran, massive trades hit the market. $1.5 billion in S&P 500 (ES) futures was bought while $192 million in oil (CL) futures was sold. These orders were 4–6x larger than anything else. They made huge gains. Unusual.

To be clear: the SAVE Act does not simply require the identification voting ALREADY requires. It demands proof of CITIZENSHIP— a birth certificate with a name that matches yours now (bye, bye, married women), or a passport— both of which are expensive and take a long time to obtain.
