THE GLORIOUS DEAD by @adamsfamfilms.bsky.social is AMAZING. What a great new movie from Wonder Wheel/The Adams Family. This is a fun change from MOTHER OF FLIES and H6LLB6ND6R!

Short film makers for the funny shorts at Telluride Horror Show. Amazing. This is the club @stacieherrington.bsky.social and I are trying to join with our work!

💙🍕 Eating cheese pizza at Baked In Telluride, my absolute favorite mountain bakery and pizza joint. About to start watching three days of HORROR MOVIES!

Movie props gone wrong. #FilmMaking

SHE’S A DOLL was great! Pick it up and read it if you get the chance!

Today is the first day of shooting! Follow the journey of TOIL AND TROUBLE at almostalive.studio!

Just checked out the audiobook version of SHE’S A DOLL by @barbaratruelove.bsky.social, author of one of my faves, OF MONSTERS AND MAINFRAMES! Road trip! I’m very excited to listen to it.

I got an email from a “hacker,” today. Supposedly, they have total control of my computer and blah blah blah. HOWEVER, the email contained what I think is my new motto. ALL INGENIOUS IS SIMPLE!!! Yep. My new motto.

Wrote the second draft of a script for a short film, today. I’m very excited by it. Yayay! #WritingCommunity #screenwriting

I am so very excited to have this book in my hands. I have been an ardent Thursday Next fan for over 20 years. Thank you @jasperfforde.bsky.social for sharing another (and last) story with her in it. (I look forward to the next installment in the Sahdes of Grey series. The last ending floored me.)

I love Allan’s movies and can’t wait for HIGHWAY GOTHIC! If you haven’t seen their movie EVIL SUBLET, go watch it on Tubi or Amazon Video! www.amazon.com/eVil-Sublet-... tubitv.com/movies/10003...

It rained like the Flood, yesterday, in New Orleans, Flash Flood Warnings and all. Today is shaping up to be the same.

Wrote only -700 words, yesterday, on Chapter1 on a new novel. Still trying to really find that voice so I can write faster. It’s my first co-authored novel. Luckily, it’s with creative partner @stacieherrington.bsky.social, a really great writer. I always learn a lot from her. #WritingCommunity

Working in the lobby of a hotel.

My creative partner @stacieherrington.bsky.social and I are making our first short film, TOIL AND TROUBLE. Follow along on our journey! curtis.schlak.com/2026/09/30/d...

Had a great dinner last night with friend and author @vslaw.bsky.social. Seriously, everyone, go but hey books. vslawrence.com/publications

Used my leftover ricotta mixture from a lasagna to make gnocchi. Can’t wait to try them this week.

Finished WITCHCRAFT FOR WAYWARD GIRLS by Grady Hendrix. 🫂 GH completely knocks me out with the humanity in his books, this one most. 🙏 Thanks to @stacieherrington.bsky.social for loaning her autographed copy to me. 🤩 I was bowled over by GH’s supplemental presentation about witchcraft, last year.

Finished GOD’S JUNK DRAWER by @peterclines.com 👍🏻 Incredibly satisfying Dark Academia Sci-Fi. 🙏 Thanks for the encouragement, @sabazinus.bsky.social! 🥰 Really got invested in the lives of Beau, Sam, Josh, Parker, and Olivia. 🐣 Now to figure out the Easter eggs…

Finished VILLAIN by Natalie Zina Walschots, the long-awaited sequel to HENCH. 🖖🏻👍🏻👏🏻 VILLAIN, an emotionally fulfilling novel, demands a sequel. While I could have lived with the ending of HENCH, NZW has captured my attention, and (dammit) I now am invested in The Auditor’s schemes and relations ships.

Please share this to help spread that Ken Paxton was protecting child predators when he was Texas’s attorney general.

When you’ve had insomnia and a mower in the neighborhood wakes you, that makes it a “weapon of grass destruction.”

Sorry about that, everyone. I believe that we live in a shared world. When people act selfishly or thoughtlessly, it makes me sad for us all.

#WriterLife #WriterSky TIP: Use NoveList Plus to find comps, a resource offered by many libraries! I hate finding comps for my unconventional mashups which satisfy my personal criteria. With NoveList, I can search by story, theme, and appeal factors like “banter-filled buddy science fantasy”!

Yesterday was nice. Wrote the first 1000 words of a new dark fantasy, working title of DARK MAGIC OF DAWN. #writerlife #booksky #writersky #amdrafting #specfic #darkfantasy

Just noting that I’ve never read a book by @peterclines.com that I didn’t like. Double negatives aside, read his books, y’all. I first started reading him with his Ex-Heroes series, five books I’m hoping get a sixth. For some reason, I’ve yet to read GOD’S JUNK DRAWER. Library, here I come.

I’m in LA this weekend (wishing that I am) taking generals at the studios. Hit me up, @a24movies.bsky.social! #writersky #screensky @wgawest.bsky.social

🚨BREAKING: Our union of over 12,000 baristas are officially calling for a Starbucks boycott. Read this statement penned by Starbucks workers on why a boycott from ALL customers, allies, and organizations is necessary to fight back against corporate greed:

Imagine having a president who thinks about the American people all day everyday instead of us having to think about him all the time

Yayay! Finally here! Not even a spine crease. Thank you, Fort Bend County Libraries, for getting a book I asked for. And, of course, thank you, @realjacksonford.bsky.social, for the words.

I live in Texas where there has been talk of responding women’s health data against them in state forums. Texas ladies, please read.
