Wrote an article about math I use to design and develop interactive experiences for AR/VR. I tried to focus on the practical aspects of it and keep it as simple as possible. Hope you will find it helpful! medium.com/@olegfrolov/... #uiprogramming #3dmath #spatialdesign #xr #interactiondesign

One detail of the #AppleVisionPro I'm rarely seeing reported is the price drop, outside of the US. The M5 model is about 10% cheaper than the M2 was. Still some way off mass-market, but definitely more tempting for those on the fence.

I'd love to know how sales of the #AppleVisionPro are right now. I'm seeing local availability of all models vary a lot. I expect it's a combo of conservative supply and a reasonable amount of demand, but those units don't seem to be hanging about.

As I'd gone completely off-piste with the Guess the Flag project and couldn't test VoiceOver properly in the visionOS simulator, I instead modified the sample code for the iOS app from the GitHub repository.

Turns out it's not that hard to improve the accessibility of basic apps. It was gratifying to revisit some previous tutorial projects and make them work better with VoiceOver!

There's a lot of amazing functionality built into iOS and Swift, and as usual it's easy to get something working quickly. Nevertheless I can appreciate that accessibility may be non-trivial to implement with more complex apps, and really needs thinking about from the beginning.

Slower progress at the moment, hectic week, but persevering. While this project introduced many great features and concepts, it had a few frustrations too. Just need to steel myself for the wrap-up, and then onto something new!

So this one really was hacking... Since Day 70 didn't really work (long presses on Annotations weren't being picked up), I had to fudge a solution in order to progress with Day 71. I gave each Annotation a distinctive colour, then created a sheet which would enable me to edit their details.

I've been having a few cheat days this week, since it's an extraordinary week at work, but keeping my hand in with #SwiftUI learning for Project 14, the bucket list app!

It is INCREDIBLE that an artifact like this is known, preserved, and available to the public. In a thousand years, I genuinely think this will be looked back upon as a very special relic representing a major turning point in human civilization. A physical bridge to us begining to simulate reality.

Just had an inspiring trip to Cambridge. Somehow the environment, my continued Swift UI learning and the tech pedigree of the place triggered a whole series of reflections on AR. I'd love to develop these into articles at some point.

Day 60 of #100DaysofSwiftUI done, and Day 61 seems doable. After that UIKit reappears, so we can utilise APIs like MapKit and Core Image. This course really is covering a lot!

Xcode... What an amazingly powerful tool. Turn any Mac into a developer's playground – for free. I expect it can be a temperamental behemoth at times, and it sure loves to tell me off as I type, but just wow.

After finishing the SwiftData section there will be two more big chapters to go. Feeling undaunted by these, but anticipating slowdowns for the coding challenges in between.

Really glad to be continuing to make progress. Following examples is generally feeling pretty natural, the brain is being trained, and each new concept feels exciting and relevant.
