a grandmotherly woman just got booted from the Trump rally for protesting, and she went out like a hero talking trash and flipping the double bird

Someone at this protest just yelled “Your souls are conflicted!” at the cops and I think that assumes an amount of introspection most cops do not allow themselves.

The issue isn't "how high is inflation" but how people feel about the President's approach. Carter had an approach; it didn't work. Trump has been personally driving inflation up with his policies. I don't think it's unreasonable for "make it worse" to be even more unpopular than "failed to fix."

At a bar watching a band called Sons of Grunge that played Fugazi and followed it up with Silverchair and I have never had my appreciation for a bar band take such a wild swing

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.

I just watched the Tom Hiddleston Pompeii documentary series and it's...not bad? He somehow delivered “Pompeii isn’t a place, it’s a people” with a straight face and that alone makes it worth watching.

Robin Hood is a movie that reminds you of just how much attention to detail there is in Disney movies. Because while we don't know if King John sucked his thumb, we definitely know that Mummy did indeed like Richard best.

"what radicalized you?" "when i was 7 i watched a chicken sing a sad protest song in jail, a mother rabbit sacrifice her own food to feed her children, and a badger cleric get arrested for standing up to injustice."
