The senate hearing today was amazing because of all the people that kept outing themselves as either/both traitors, but this is the best. Schmitt created a conspiracy that Smith was colluding with the GA DAcbased on his attendance at an Atlanta Hawks game. Smith was at an Iowa Hawkeyes game in MD.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:

My family complains that you can’t tell when I’m smiling and a lot of pictures, but I promise that I am smiling and very excited for the first class in the journalism program with the PAL

If Trump did this we would be debating on x with people that thought we conquered Finland.

Governor Gavin Newsom@governor.ca.gov

Today, I signed an MOU between California and Finland to deepen our economic partnership and expand collaboration. California greatly values our partners across the globe and proudly works together to drive innovation, create opportunity, and build a sustainable, green economy.

I'm working on a podcast on things that transit agencies have to do (preventive maintenance, planning, prevention, etc...) for extraordinary events from Mega-Events to Climate Change. Huge thanks to the folks at Metrolink who gave me a tour today and helped me improve the concept. More to come!

ICE just arrested a 5-year-old on his way to a soccer game in Austin. His name is Liam, just like the little boy from Minnesota. He should be in kindergarten this week. Instead he's in a trailer prison in the desert. Release Liam. Release these kids. Close the Dilley children’s prison.

Cameras work.

Approximately 74% - 80% of drivers ticketed by New York City's speed camera ticket do not receive a second one. Speeding dropped by 94 percent reduction in locations where cameras were installed. www.nyc.gov/html/dot/htm...

It's actually one of the most shocking things I've seen since Trump invaded LA 15 months ago...Cops, in uniform, as props, at a political rally cheering a felon attacking an Attorney General. This is some real totalitarian shit.

Bradley P. Moss@bradmossesq.bsky.social

He is saying this in front of uniformed law enforcement officials who are smiling and laughing.

But…but…his campaign underperformed compared to other conservative candidates, despite a flood of free media. It was a disaster.

SCOOP for @ms.now w/ Akayla Gardner: Trump met with Spencer Pratt in LA this week, a White House official says Republicans have been floating Pratt as a future presidential contender after his relative success in the LA mayoral race. 👀

My Gmail account was briefly compromised today. If you received a strange email or link from my address in the last few hours, do not open it. It is a scam. I have secured my account.

I've never written a story before where government agencies can't agree on basic facts: is a permit needed, are the agencies talking, etc.

LA should cut ties with Flock Safety. Cities across the country are canceling their Flock contracts over the risks its license plate readers pose to privacy, civil liberties, and immigrant communities. LAPD is doing the opposite: renegotiating a surveillance network that Angelenos never agreed to.

Fresno County supervisors have stalled a replacement for Measure C, the transportation sales tax that's funded roads and transit for decades. Now the City of Fresno is pursuing its own ballot measure...it's not perfect but is it a responsible response to the County's dysfunction?

This story relies on a lot of local reporting, but I would be remiss if I didn't point out the great work done by Pablo Orihuela and Julianna Morano of @fresnoland.bsky.social.

BREAKING: In Durnell v. Monsanto, SCOTUS eliminated an important legal tool for people seeking justice after suffering illnesses from toxic pesticides. It ruled that federal law shields pesticide manufacturers from being held accountable in state courts when products fail to warn of cancer risks.

People are wondering why Bass is tacking RIGHT for the general election. It's simple. With Hilton and Voter ID on the ballot, she knows the >1/4 of the electorate that's Republican is going to vote. If she gets that vote to vote for her (or against Raman) instead of leaving "Mayor" blank, she wins.

One year ago today, Donald Trump's masked agents began their brutal, chaotic raids of communities in Los Angeles and across Southern California. Hours later, Trump illegally took over the California National Guard, militarizing American neighborhoods to make his authoritarian goals a reality.

Biggest thing I’m learning from producing and repeatedly watching these videos is how great LA is for having viable transpo options. Sometimes I want to drive and hear a podcast. Sometimes I avoid my car at all costs and hop the train. Most times I want to bike and burn off some steam (& calories)
