Hey San Diego politicians. Our answer here is 365 days bikeable days per year.

This is a really good compilation of what it's really like to ride a bike in San Diego because of all of the gaps in what should be a NETWORK of bike lanes. I would be shocked if any of the city officials critical of the report had ever ridden a bike in any of these places.

Now we know why the backlog of repair requests suddenly ballooned again last year. Maybe if the mayor could find a way to turn streetlight repairs into a photo-op he'd care. Meanwhile, I have to use a flashlight if I want lighting at night in this incompetently managed city.

I can't believe that any functioning adults are seriously considering "What if we COVID'ed ourselves by blowing up public transit, instead of paying a 1/2 cent sales tax?" (around $5-8 per resident each month, on average).

New car prices average $50,000, gas is at an all time high, and many Americans are forced into car dependency. In-office requirements are a tax on the working class.

Not sure if my years of incessant complaining to every agency that touches this road had anything to do with it, but after 5 years of construction they put up some plastic sticks to protect the only bike route from downtown San Diego to the coast. Ofc they still disappear half way down the block

@sundance.bikesky.social first commute with the lanesaber this morning! A few streets where I’ve consistently had annoying close passes have been completely quelled.

Also the idea of an 11 year old on a bike or a 75 year old in a recumbent trike “sharing space” with a Ford F-150 driving 30 mph is ridiculous. You can’t share space with something that could crush you without noticing.
