Today was an absolute shit show and a joke work-wise, but LOOK AT WHAT CAME HOME TODAY! My glazed Opal jack-o'-lantern!! She's perfect 😭❤️ (That big carved spot on the bottom is her chest spot lol)

When I opened this package and saw this beautiful piece inside I SQUEED for longer than I thought my lungs could handle 😭♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ THANK YOU AGAIN I CAN'T GET OVER THIS LIL PERFECT BEAN!!!!

Organized the studio a bit and dug up this old paint-your-own craft store piece from a Halloween craft date a bajillion years ago. Decided it was time to paint! Not done yet but I was mostly excited to go crazy on the owl 😆 I can't believe the light still works lol

Snuck a lil embroidery time in at the end of the night. Heart staff!! Might use those same colors in their garment, because ~theme~ And yeah, I didn't plan any of the colors out ahead of time because I am a being of pure chaos. #embroidery

Got a little art time in here and there this weekend. Really pleased with my vulture saint progress, and got my pelican's water some base coats.

Flu shot absolutely kicked my butt today. Hopefully I can do a little embroidery later or something, otherwise I've just been scrolling on the couch all day.

At the pharmacy for my flu shot. Peeped at the Halloween candy and nearly keeled over to see $32 for a mixed bag of fun size Hershey's chocolate WTF HOW DOES ANYONE AFFORD TO GIVE OUT CANDY Currently grateful we don't get trick-or-treaters anymore 😭 wtffffff

This hasn't been the nicest weekend ever (bad brain time and bad tummy time) but I did pick this piece back up. Finally felt brave enough to start to tackle the main vulture ❤️ I think this will be my focus for the rest of the weekend since everything else keeps falling through. It's been relaxing ❤️

Was supposed to get on the river for a big white water day today. But once I saw the water level, I couldn't bring myself to do it. My risk tolerance has been non-existent since my shoulder injury. This year has been so hard. I'm just trying to be kind to myself. Hopefully I'll get back out there...

He's so close now!! Gotta let the "water" dry for a day or so ...

Didn't get to work on him too much today (Opal said no felting!) but I'm really excited with how he's turning out ♥️ Gonna work on him some more at Stitchers on Tuesday, and hopefully do a little sculpting on the base during the week! Not much longer now...

I ~really~ want to work on my pelican, but Opal has been chasing me down for cuddle time all day between chores and errands. Gotta pay the Opal snuggle tax.

Tripped and fell into a pottery class where you carve clay "jack-o'-lanterns", so I had to make my Opal pumpkin with her carved white chest spot and resting bitch face 🥹❤️ MY SHMUMPKIN They throw the initial "pumpkin" and glaze it for you (wahh) but she should be black when I get her back in 3 weeks!

Really excited to share that I'm in training to take over one of my local Christmas Bird Counts! ❤️ Apparently doing so at an interesting time since they're changing the system right now. This is my favorite of the 2 count circles I do every year too 🥹 I'm so excited!!!

Stayed up later than I should have to get his other wing on! Still a ton of felting left to do (even just on the wings), but I just HAD to get his wings going! No, I will never learn how to take decent WIP photos of my work ever. At least no one will ever think my stuff is ai 😆

Today turned out to be the most glorious chill-at-home-during-the-nor'easter day ever. Made chilli & corn bread, watched anime, played Big Walk with my siblings (in person bro & long distance sis), and cuddled Opal all day ❤️ 10/10 restful time.

Opal's vet appointment went pretty well. Starting some new meds to hopefully help her tummy, and the vet was happy with her current food. (Opal is also very happy with her current food lol) She's slowly improving, and was even excited to play with some new toys yesterday! Good job Sweet Bean 😭♥️

We think Opal may have IBD. She's had some good nights recently, but last night was tough. She has an appointment for this Thursday, so I'm just hoping she can hold out til then so we don't have to torture her with an additional ride to the emergency vet...

Opal has been having digestive issues again. Trying to switch her to a food that's meant for sensitive tummies- the transition is so slow and I can't tell if it'll help. She also has a heart condition, the whole vet process is stressful af to her so I try to avoid taking her, but I'm getting worried

Officially diagnosed with frozen shoulder today, and got my cortisone shot. Boy did that feel weird. Currently achey, but hopefully all my inflammation will settle down even a little bit and I can see some actual improvements with PT soon. Bought my yarn for my cecropia caterpillar as a treat ❤️❤️

It's sinking in that this is my last year working with Spotted Lanternfly and I'm getting sad about it?! They're such goofy bugs. Been working with them for 6 years (!!) Def getting a tattoo after all is said and done, just have to decide the details.
