So Republican sources tell Zeteo that Amy Acton's estranged mother appeared mentally unwell around when the ad was filmed & that she struggles to keep a straight narrative on the past. Here's what Trump said about her: “The mother looks like she’s totally lucid. She looks very smart actually.”

NEW on @zeteo.com Sources say Amy Acton's estranged mom seemed mentally unwell when Ramaswamy's ad was filmed & she had trouble keeping a coherent narrative on the past. Some wanted to vet her more, but *Ramaswamy himself* wanted to pushed ahead. From @jsweetli.bsky.social & @swin24.bsky.social:

to its credit, the cooking chatbot seems decently hardened against illegal requests. but it is funny that the bot will produce a shareable copy of your weird recipe

LMAO…honestly have a hard time believing any model released in the last year could produce something this boneheaded

Mayoral hopeful George Cardenas’ campaign inadvertently exposed 1.5 million Chicago voters’ personal data through his campaign site, which appears to have been largely built with AI. Experts agree the move was a “complete lapse” in security. illinoisanswers.org/2026/10/27/m...

classic nonsense nothingburger of an answer from Harris: makes an appeal to cold calculus (“the votes aren’t there”) and in the next breath asserts that “we should be ruthless, uncompromising” yeah okay, good chat

I was thinking how chatgpt back then produced code that wasn’t just “bad, in my expert opinion” but outright invalid— and that wasn’t enough to stop an engineer trusting it for something far more complicated. It’s a reflection of her desperate situation, and also how dangerous this bot design was/is

Karen Attiah@karenattiah.bsky.social

1) It's completely coherent that a top engineer would do whatever is necessary to maintain her career and try to stay in the U.S. 2) The story says she went on disability leave in 2021, during the pandemic, when people were isolating. She rarely left her apartment and didn't make friends.

more context: gpt-4o users raised a shitstorm last year after OpenAI replaced 4o with gpt-5, b/c they thought v5 was less friendly. The lawsuit says the victim thought that too: she was on chatgpt's $200/month plan and deliberately switched back to the 4o model schenklawfirm.com/wp-content/u...

"The model Bowen had used in the last years of her life, GPT-4o, was pulled off the consumer app Feb. 13, 2026, the day after the medical examiner believed Bowen died." Ostensibly, today's models are safer/more restricted, but pity for those who got hooked on chat when it was designed to suck up

Yesterday I went to a small arepas place that had been on my list, but the storefront and inside was entirely covered in ai food slop posters. I ended up eating there, and it was delicious, but still had to fight off nausea from having to look at the posters 🤢 www.chicagotribune.com/2026/10/21/r...

chicagotribune.com‘Off-putting’ or ‘a fine tool’? AI slop on restaurant signage is becoming rampant and repugnant.Walk down a commercial street in almost any Chicago neighborhood or a busy corridor in the suburbs and it’s hard to escape some form of suspect food imagery.

putting aside the ethical issues, I wish there were a way for consumers to clearly convey to businesses to stop using these slop posters because they make the food look like shit. With how good phone cameras are, there isn’t a huge barrier to have good photos of your actual food

i.e. I'd want to specifically convey that I plan not to eat at this AI slopped place again, not because their food wasn't good, but b/c I'd rather patronize the many other places in Uptown/Argyle who showcase their great food with poorly lit point-and-shoot camera photos taped to their walls

Reminds me back when someone got into all of Instagram's systems b/c Instagram had installed an admin tool and re-used a secret token from the tool's public repo www.exfiltrated.com/research-Ins... it's the kind of thing every org is vulnerable to, but you'd hope Anthropic would be ahead of...

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

has any Christian who believes in the afterlife actually read Revelations where heaven is described, or do they think it'll be just like twitter but in the cloud

Philip Bump@pbump.com

Even if this were viable as a concept (that there's an afterlife; that it allows conversations with others; that enslavers are going the same place as you), who cares? Oh, are you mad at me, Ben Franklin? Tough shit.

Update to my Chicago crash tracking site: I learned that the city has an incredibly annoying way of (not) updating victim death info, so while I mull a more accurate way of tracking fatalities, I re-did the site's database to count things by block instead of whole ass streets crashstop.org/chicago/

Dan Nguyen@dancow.bsky.social

Added a page dedicated to fatalities: 1,032 crashes and 1,126 people killed in Chicago traffic since 2018 crashstop.org/chicago/fata...

i just think it's neat you can type in your partial address and (usually) get a block/street result, without me having to pay to send your input to google's geocoder ☺️
