RTD has a long history of being intentionally vague and/or misleading regarding his designs on Doctor Who. But if there’s one thing we can count on, it’s that we’ll know for certain a new Doctor has been cast when white smoke billows from the chimney of his house.

It feels like a dagger in the heart that The Late Show is gone. Stephen Colbert kept me sane during the last decade or so. Speaking truth to power is the most important and courageous thing an entertainer can do. What is art if not a reflection (and critique) of humanity? Godspeed, Stephen.

Don't congratulate John Roberts or the Supreme Court. Congratulate Rick Woldenberg, the Chicago-area leader of Learning Resources, an educadtional toy company that had the courage to sue the president of the United States to save his family business. As well as everyone else who stepped up.

Look, I know its a logical fallacy to assume all recommendations from this administration are perilous - but emotionally speaking there's never been a better reason to become vegan. We're officially living in the Upside Down, where even the food pyramid has ben overturned.

I know a lot of us (me included) are pissed at JKR right now, but if you want an allegory about what’s happening in education specifically and government generally in 2025, you can’t do better than HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX.

Wonderful perspective.

Great article about how David Lynch’s art beared witness to suffering and offered compassion in a brutal world. Lynch’s death was like a light that was extinguished — a light that showed the barbarism but also the empathy of humanity. www.newyorker.com/culture/2025...

Intellivision is back! I was excited for the wireless controller upgrade until I remembered half the fun of playing an Intellivision was the stupid game of stretching the coiled controller cables as far as you could & letting go, destructively launching the bubble button controllers at the console.

Ho-Ho-Ho, who wouldn’t go? Me. I’m the one who wouldn’t go up on the housetop. I don’t even like going into the attic. I don’t care if old St. Nick or Jesus Christ himself are up there. Miss me with your musical acrophobic dares.

As much as I think I would enjoy Billie Piper as the 16th Doctor, part of me would also like her to turn to a companion and say “this reminds me of a time when…“ and then flashback to Paul McGann as the Doctor and let him take over for two or three seasons.

A scoop that I’m not happy to report: CBS News has gutted its climate change reporting team, one of the best in the business, and one of the only ones on cable news that consistently called out fossil fuels as the main source of climate pollution. heated.world/p/cbs-news-k...
