The central conceit of sports is that you canโ€™t be seen to enjoy winning for any more than a fleeting moment. You must immediately pivot to performatively addressing the next challenge. It must be exhausting. Itโ€™s definitely boring.

'Who cares if you win the county if you don't back it up?' - Nemo's Munster focus. 2022 Cork football success 'tainted' because of Munster shortcoming, says Mark Cronin. www.the42.ie/mark-cronin-...

Contrast with the time the โ€˜digital crimesโ€™ were machines created to generate CSAM and our cowards ran and hid until the media got bored.

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. โ€œDigital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.โ€ This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flรกvio Bolsonaro.

Far right protesters can walk into libraries to threaten people with a police escort and block roads asking brown skinned people for ID while the Gardai look on. The same Gardai will happily put a dozen leftie students in A+E for a week during an eviction protest. I hope this helps your analysis

As soon as someone uses โ€˜far leftโ€™, they should be demanded to define it. Same with โ€˜wokeโ€™ and โ€˜cancel cultureโ€™. Someone being paid cash money to communicate and using terms for which there is no accepted definition is a propagandist.

I listen to a fair amount of Irish news podcasts and something I have noticed recently is the term 'Far Left' seems to have bedded in as an absolute given. Like everyone has accepted this is real? Who the hell is the 'Far Left'??

Everyone is correct about that ad. It makes no difference. The elderly are venerated in Ireland and anything that can be inferred as criticism or wrongdoing is going to get stomped on. P.S. the elderly vote. No politician is withdrawing their words.

Saw an elderly man, stooped and using two walking sticks, get into a car and drive off this morning. As the older wealthy population grows, the more of these dangers will be on the roads. And no one will want to touch talking about it with a barge pole.

My assumption is that the plan is for Ireland to join anti migrant operations in the Med and the Atlantic as climate change induced war and poverty makes swathes of Africa and the ME unliveable. Justifying it is also why thereโ€™s an upsurge in Islamophobic propaganda by the chattering classes.

Our dipshits having an โ€˜AI summitโ€™ bending over for the tech lords the same week we find out Zuckerberg is interfering in the Brazilian election and Musk is helping to get Ukrainians killed is a bit on the nose, even for them.

Galway - the current Frankensteinโ€™s monster club - have never beaten sham rovers (one of its corpses last did it 20 years ago). So if they keep this up, not sure how anyone can claim rovers are anything other than spoofers.

I hate gen AI slop as much as the next person. But. But. I have been testing Claudeโ€™s machine learning abilities on a business system we use for modelling production. And its output in under 90 minutes of prompting results in a better output than we get after a month from graduate engineers/chemists

Everything we do requires second person verification. So Claude or the engineer making errors is all the same. Whether the company thinks paying for the token burn is worth it or not is not for me. I donโ€™t like that the machine has learned (much) better than the graduates, but it has.

Wonโ€™t somebody think of the [checks notes] weapons companiesโ€™ executives

Russia is intensifying efforts to assassinate European defence executives, spy chiefs have warned. Once considered off-limits, civilian targets are increasingly in Moscowโ€™s sights as the Kremlin expands its campaign of โ€œhybridโ€ warfare across Europe.
