One of the best parts of living on this island in the middle of nowhere is questioning all reality before you realize the thing crossing the street is an otter

Devastating news today. Richard “Levelord” Gray was such a great guy. Like many of our friends, I wish I could have hung out with him again. He was full of life, a gentle soul, and an excellent level designer. He was called “Levelord” for a reason.

Oh man, the last quote from the driver: "When I see monkeys in the zoo, they're usually cute. Wild monkeys are absolutely not cute at all." He also used the word "恐怖" which is less "scared" and more "abject horror"

From the 5-min pilot of "Redline", directed by Takeshi Koike 7 years before the film's release (and not reused in the film). It's still just as rare to see such long proof-of-concepts produced for Japanese animated films projects. Full video >> www.catsuka.com/player/redli...

Looking through all the instances of my name in video games and while I’m glad a lot of my cut D2 content is coming back it also means the return of my most tortured incarnation (as accurate as the name could be these days)

Unfortunately I think I must have been canonically murdered in the events leading up to Resonant I apologize to all the fans of my Remedy-verse presence

Halfway through a monthlong drydock in the little island house I'm living in and watching the Storm of the Century miniseries for that real immersion Gonna start talking in a thick New England accent even though I'm on the opposite side of the country

Ooohhh man gonna have to take a break from posting today I sincerely wish everyone remaining at Bungie the best but hoo boy

Looping in my head as I read the announcement today

Also answers the burning questions "What if there was an 80s anime that was so good it fueled a bloody galactic conflict?" and "What if girls liked you?"

Reminded that I never purchased a GameCube but I did win one from a radio station that came signed by the members of Smashmouth

25 years ago! Left: my local Lawson sold me my preordered GameCube at 11pm the night before launch (they weren't supposed to), thus the first pic of me home playing it on 9/13. Right: the next morning, after grabbing a second for a friend in Akiba at 6am (where I ran into @louiethecat.bsky.social)

So the vehicle ferry for the island I’m currently living on is going into dry dock for about a month and this text on the town’s official website really makes me think I’m in for some kind of Cthulhu situation AT THE VERY LEAST

“Hey can you punch up that ferry announcement but REALLY lean into the fact that we’re gonna ritualistically kill and eat everyone?” “Sure thing boss”

The .ass error lives on

Thrift Store had a copy of Halo 2 for GFWL. Noticed it has a sticker on the rating and was confused about why it had to be “re-rated”. Went down a rabbit hole where the reason was that one of the devs put a picture of their ass in the games files lol.

Deleting all of my fun Japan trip emails and seeing them replaced with a batch of new job rejections is the perfect slap in the face back to reality I needed, thanks universe

Are there any games that have explored the ROBOT ALCHEMIC DRIVE concept further? It was a janky game in a whole lot of ways but it was also weirdly super endearing and played with player perspective in a way that I don’t think I’ve seen since. Anyway just random kaiju thoughts on my last day.

Me before this trip: “Man you would have to be a world class idiot to buy a bunch of stuff on this trip when you’re moving like two days after you get back, better not buy too much” Me today, a world class idiot:
