Yang is dressed in a Ukrainian folk costume, combining its recognizable elements: namysto (red bead necklace), woven plakhta (wrap skirt), zapaska (apron), and a wide krayka (belt). The vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt) features a pattern I copied from an authentic shirt from Western Polissia.

Ruby is wearing a Russian sarafan and a shirt with red shoulder insets. The sarafan’s cut is rather common, for example, in the Kazan Governorate or the Russian North. I also decided to add rose motifs to the outfit 🌹
