Hi, friends! I’m organizing a psychedelic writing retreat this summer — the kind of magical thing that can only happen here in the Netherlands. Dates are now confirmed for July 19-25 and the website will be live soon. For now, the best way to stay posted is Instagram (@psychedelicwritingretreat) 🔆🪶🌌

Hey, do you need a fiction editor? Maybe an affordable and extremely detail-oriented one? I might be able to help. This is pretty spontaneous, but I'm just going to jump in. I recently started an editing business aimed at academics in the social sciences. Academia is my day job, though. (1/6) 🧵

Got some news: my debut crime novel Teeth Kicker is being published by HarperCollins (Australia) 🎉 HarperCollins has described it as edgy and thrilling. Out in Sept 2026!

whatever gorgeous hybrid thing you've created. Now, I do have extensive editorial training, I do have years of experience as a literary magazine editor, and I have written one novel and co-authored another. But I have *not* yet taken on fiction editing jobs with private clients. That just (3/6)

means that, in some of the more practical or technical respects, I'll be learning by doing. That also means I can offer careful edits at a very reasonable price. In practice, editing can be adapted to whatever your manuscript needs. But, in general, here's what I can offer: (4/6)

Hi, friends. Some big changes: I quit my tenure-track assistant professor job and I'm jumping fully into editing and writing. I'll be focusing on academic editing, but would love to eventually add fiction and CNF. If you want to see what I've been up to, head over to flowstateediting.com

I had another Bsky acct for academic stuff, but will now be combining everything here. I think I've found a way to bring my literary life and academic life together. If it gets too messy, I'll use a separate account for my editing business :)

"Our sister went to help the people who came out of the volcano." Buckle up, folks, because @rpmirabella.bsky.social has an incredibly imagined story for us this week. Wondrous, human, and beautifully written, "Volcano People" ends on a note of perfect melancholy. Absolutely do not miss this one! 🌋

The past few months I've been out of the literary world loop. I *have* been doing a lot of reading, but not much writing. Anyway, I finally updated my author website and that feels like a step in the right direction: danielderock.com

👻SURPRISE! HAUNTED POP-UP SUB CALL👻 *details in thread* Our 2nd annual Halloween sub call has begun! First, we need writers to create settings (ARCHITECTS). I’m probably not describing this the right way, but can anyone think of examples of collaborative memoir/CNF? Like memoirs or personal essays that braid/juxtapose multiple lives, written collectively by two or more authors?

This year will be: Finishing novel edits and querying Getting back to short stories (I miss them) More essays More poems Equally likely: new novel idea comes along and tornadoes these plans

Does anyone want to be mutual lit agents? We can make a publishers marketplace announcement every time we get a story or poem acceptance. Like, “Writer [your name]’s [STORY NAME], a flash fiction piece about dogs, to [EIC at lit mag], in an unremunerative deal, by their friend Danny”
