Fucking hell! They're all just common criminals.

Mike Rogers’ wife is handing out $10 gas cards in Michigan while asking people to vote for her husband. Republicans made gas unaffordable. Now they’re offering $10 to keep them in power. #BlueWaveIn20Days

Y'all, come on! There is a sentence in front of and one behind Turnip's "small price" comment. As much as an inarticulate moron that he is, it's clear in the context that he means fuel prices and inflation are a small price to pay rather than let Iran have the ability to nuke our cities. 1/

There is plenty reason that he should already have been bodily dragged out of the White House in handcuffs and shackles and turned over to an international tribunal for trial and the ultimate sentence involving a hemp rope. 4/

That notion is dumb enough and I hope acts as a brake on what I fear - that in his demented mind the way to cement his place in the pantheon of "great" presidents is to be the one "who had the courage" to nuke Iran. 2/

I gave a girl some flowers. She took me by the hand upstairs into her bedroom, slipped off her underwear and spread her legs, saying, “This is for the flowers.” I said, “Don’t be silly, there must be a vase in here somewhere.”

“It’s time for us to take our state back — now you might say: ‘haven’t y’all been in power for like the last 30 years?’ And to that i say… SHUT UP.” 😂😂 Nails it 🎯

Smashed three car windows already to save dogs from the heat. Haven’t found any yet but I’m not giving up.

@bsky.app STOP IT! We expect this kind of treatment at the bad place. Not here. Leave the Hat alone!

Did Ken White (popehat) get banned for this post? This is a bad ban. I don’t ever call for death on anyone (though I also don’t mind when it happens) but this isn’t even doing that… just kinda pointing out a truth that nothing will stop musk because so many of you support his behavior

This is the way.

Feeling overwhelmed with all of this. LISTEN. Another Louisiana resident (Marshawn is the only name we have) testifies against the state’s racial gerrymander, speaking truth to power up and down the hearing room and predicts how this story will end. Speak your truth, fight and believe.

I think taking seriously that the president is an honest-to-God deranged gangster, and every lawful institution meant to stop that from happening has failed and has no real prospect of functioning, is so unsettling that a lot of folks have just decided to retreat into fantasy as a coping mechanism.

Will Stancil@whstancil.bsky.social

There’s a bizarre social consensus, somehow strongest among the elites and institutional leaders of the nation, that all this deranged behavior simply amounts to nothing - bluster and chaos sitting atop a fundamental normalcy.

Calvinball.

NEW: The Fifth Circuit would like to run the United States. The far-right federal appeals court and the district court judges below them are taking actions to control and influence what happens outside of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Tonight, at Law Dork:

“You know we’re in a war,” President Trump said yesterday, as a White House letter to Congress asserted that the War Powers Act doesn’t apply because there’s no war. Utter contempt. Congress is cool with it. Because the GOP majority also has contempt for the law, Constitution, country, and people.

We are living in the stupidest time, where intellectually incurious men with arrested development play silly games to boost their fragile egos while the rest of the country struggles with the direct consequences of their incompetence and inattention.

It's a shame that "defend your culture" always means "hate strangers different from you" and never "enact anti-pollution laws so that you can go fishing with your grandkids the way your grandpa taught you."

Anyone suggesting we should stop accurately pointing out factual ways that the president is wrecking this country on a daily basis, or expressing an opinion about that, because of something a random nut does is espousing a profoundly un-American concept that I completely reject.

"Do you regret your heated rhetoric?" "No. Do you regret your chilled rhetoric? Do you regret sitting on the sidelines as norms fell away and so many laws were broken? Do you regret pretending like this was all normal and you alone were savvy enough to see that Both Sides Are To Blame?"

Do I want to post something that will only lead to lots of people responding angrily while missing the point or do I want to just vaguepost as a way to vent without having to actually deal with that? Well, if you're reading this you know which one I chose...

This is treating Trump v. United States as law. It is not law. It is anti-law. It belongs in that category of Supreme Court decisions which were not merely wrong, they were illegitimate and non-binding from the day they were issued. It is owed no more respect than Lincoln gave Dred Scott.

KERNEN: We'd never be able to send anyone back if you needed a judicial warrant every single time RAND PAUL: Well, I don't think that's true. Obeying the 4th Amendment of the Constitution shouldn't be too difficult. It's something we fought the revolution over.
