«The Black Hole» is an international prize winner short film that offers a portrait of temptation and greed from a genuinely sci-fi point of view. [🎞️ Olly Williams and Phil Sansom] Original post
The former Congresswoman was was shocked not by the calls, but that “the calls are coming from inside the house”.
Look, I'm not trying to be unsympathetic to the politicians in the article. But non-pols get these threats daily. Woman got doxxed and their kids threatened for disclosing they were harassed by a serial predator. I got an artisanal hand-written death threat mailed to my apartment. Deal with it.

The philosophy that carried Athens right into the Peloponnesian War. So how’d that work out for them? I mean militarily, economically, diplomatically, and all around hegemonically? They kinda lost, right? And that made it easy for Persia to walk right into the neighborhood.
Hegseth: "We need students of western civilization and the pillars of our republic. Leaders who understand the faith of Jerusalem, the philosophy of anthems -- Athens. The power of Rome, and the freedom of Philadelphia circa 1776."

For the record, while there are indeed vulnerabilities in some US election systems, susceptibility to “lasers from space” is not one of them. Musk’s alleged claims here would not constitute evidence of election fraud, but rather evidence of a serious detachment from reality on his part.
Newly released text messages from Elon Musk show the billionaire bragging about using "lasers from space" to elect Donald Trump president in 2024. The question-raising remark comes as Musk spends millions on November's midterms.

I would extrapolate from this by noting that if this is happening to someone unpleasant in year 2026, it might be happening to everyone in another 5 years, in places where large numbers of cameras are installed.

The tech bros decide that buying Republicans alone won't cut it, so they start buying Democrats, too. "Some US companies with close ties to Trump [and his sons] are taking steps to gain favor with Democrats, worried they will become targets if Republicans lose control of the House."

The Game of Thrones theme was composed by Ramin Djawadi, who is of Iranian descent. Hearing this melody played with Persian instruments and the daf drum is absolutely beautiful. Original post

His seventh bankruptcy will be his biggest ever, and it won’t even be with his own money.
A Republican President, with a Republican House and Senate, has added over $4 trillion to our debt in less than two years. The GOP must turn away from Big Government Republican policies and once again become the party of fiscal responsibility and free enterprise
William Goldman writes about Redford a lot in his book. WG had great respect for Redford. They made four movies together; and Butch and Sundance made Redford a superstar. Redford kinda screwed WG when as producer of ATPM he let Bernstein’s then-wife rewrite WG’s script. (The rewrite wasn’t used.)
Redford would have turned 90 today. “All the President’s Men” (1976) owes its existence to him; he bought the film rights, developed a script and cajoled a reluctant Woodward & Bernstein. I thought it was “a great character study,” he said later — but for months, “they didn’t return my calls.”
This crew cannot manage a narrow wading pool and now they want to control a wide and deep international waterway. Guys - crawl walk run. Get off your tummies first.
President Trump posted an image of a map labeling the Strait of Hormuz as a U.S. territory in an apparent effort to double down on his calls to annex the waterway.

Remember before the beginning of the war when the president sent that MEU out to threaten Iran? Five months later and those Marines are still floating around out there. And if people think sailors on carriers get fed up, try 2,000 over-testoteroned Marines. www.yahoo.com/news/us/arti...
The MSM completely missed the gravity of last night's Ukrainian missile strike on the Progress Rocket Center in Samara, Russia. This isn't just another industrial fire. This is the definitive end of independent Russian space dominance and a massive blow to their national pride. 1/5
For those who think in freedom temperatures that is over 20F.
Sub-surface ocean temperatures in the Pacific have now reached 9.96°C above average, significantly warmer than the previous record event in 1997. This El Niño continues to set new records. Nobody alive today has witnessed an event of this magnitude.
