Just finished The New One Minute Manager. Has anyone else read it? If so, do you actually use the three secrets in your day‑to‑day leadership—Goals, Praisings, or Redirects? Curious which ones people have made stick. #leadership

To all the #chess players whose dad taught them how to play and to all the dads who are teaching their kids to play chess, Happy Father's Day! #chesspunks (PS happy father's day to all the other dads, grandpas, foster dads, step dads, people who want to be dads, as well! #whataboutism)

#chesspunks #chess Is anyone familiar with route planner/mazes? Like from Bruce Albertson. Heard a podcast with carol ann caronia. NYC chess teacher who said she used them extensively in her classes. Any experience with them?

Happy Easter! Very sad that black jelly beans are not in the regular bags of brach’s. I counted on getting all the black ones from my kids Easter baskets. I Realize you can now buy a whole bag of them on their own, but it was always fun having the kids say eww gross. Give em to daddy!)

I am a slow reader but love to read. I’ve started digging into YA novels (and reading them along with my son). Double duty in keeping me reading and sharing that bond with my kids! No shame. Read what you enjoy! Full stop.

Adults struggle with literacy…nothing wrong with asking for help or reading children’s books for confidence…I want people read..I will never judge..

It all started in 1955 with a misprint in a Colorado newspaper and a call to Col. Harry Shoup's secret military hotline. Shoup played along with the tiny voice who called, and a tradition was born. From the NPR archives.

Imagine if the billions spent on ICE raids and gestapo-style enforcement went instead to hiring immigration judges, lawyers, and admin staff—to actually fix and fast-track LEGAL immigration. #ImmigrationReform #AbolishICE #DemocracyNotFascism

Wdcb.org 90.9FM is a killer jazz radio station in Chicago land. (Currently feeling the funding cuts of the government. So any support goes a long way!!)

The city is home to a vibrant jazz scene and the Chicago Jazz Festival. But it’s hard to catch the genre on the local radio dial. trib.al/chUEBj6

This is absolute lunacy. CISA employees are being reassigned to agencies like ICE and CBP to support deportation efforts. This is clearly designed to force resignations, weaken our election infrastructure, and help the administration corrupt future elections. www.nextgov.com/people/2025/...

Great stuff here. I love the simplicity of Markdown and not having to worry about me screwing up the formatting in Word. Or Word doing that for me.

Enter the Cleve Carney Museum of Art this summer and you might imagine yourself in the Japanese city of Edo before it was renamed Tokyo in 1868. “Hokusai & Ukiyo-e: The Floating World” transports visitors to a time when Japan was emerging from the feudal era and modern cities were booming.
