For makers of products that seem to purposefully interfere with password managers working properly on your login screens... why? In what world does this result in any behaviors that are better for security?

Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night groggily worrying about who will take care of us when we’re old and senile. Then remembering how much progress has been made in humanoid robots and that we’ll definitely have an attentive robot nurse by then and we don’t have to worry about it 😂😴

Very proud of the product video I made for my AI email tool, Delegate! It was my first time diving into After Effects and motion graphics, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Being able to work on diverse projects is my favourite thing about indie building.

I've been making a product video in After Effects (lots of fun, highly recommend) and it's crazy how quickly my opinion of my M1 Pro with 32GB of RAM has gone from "this computer will last me another 5 years" to "this is literal garbage and I want to spend $4000 on a new computer"

Dogs are maybe the best and most pure “good” in this world. So much upside and love for such little “cost”

They give us unconditional love, devotion & loyalty. They are a reliable source of peace, joy & contentment. That they have made this a better world is an undisputed FACT. 👁️❤️🐶🐕

Has anyone worked extensively with the OpenAI Realtime API? I’m finding it’s struggling very hard to understand my voice compared to the Advanced Voice Mode, and I’m hoping it’s due to audio handling that can be tuned and not just that it’s very bad.

Yes. This experiment will work if you make it your own. Customize your experience, build new ones, make a social network that can be controlled by the people who use it an idea we do not go back on.

Hank Green@hankgreen.bsky.social

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

Is this something more people want? I'm thinking of creating feeds for 7D, 30D, 90D inactive accounts. Based on how Feeds work (lists of posts), it would be a reverse-chronological list of the most recent post (including replies) for each account you follow, starting from 7/30/90 days ago.

Jake@ijusthustle.bsky.social

Is there a feed for inactive accounts? It'd be a great way for me to unfollow accounts that went dormant.

It's official: I've launched my first product: Delegate! 🎉 It took much longer than I thought it would when I started, and there's so much more to build, but I'm thrilled to push it out the door. Delegate has a very narrow focus for now: it reads every email so you don't have to. meetdelegate.com

I can’t be the only indie maker to get lost in the zone for hours at a time. Reminder to get up and MOVE every so often. Helps your heart, helps your head, helps your waistline. Taking the time to get the juices flowing will probably make you more productive in the long run.

Grateful to have contributed to this fascinating study led by Dr. Liye Zou on how short exercise breaks during sitting can sharpen cognitive function and enhance brain and microvascular health. Here's the breakdown 🧵 👇

Could have it open to plug in any handle and see how their audience activity breaks down. What topics are they engaging with? Posting about? Many potential charts, filters and views.

This type of data can help you connect to your existing audience, and find others whose audience is similar. There’s a cynical follower-chasing use case for this, but I’m thinking it more along the lines of facilitating connections along shared points of interest which helps build overall community

These starter packs are 🔥

I created a Starter Pack with the coolest of the coolest Indie Makers! ✨ Please repost for more visibility and feel free to comment if you want to be added. go.bsky.app/ENuBar1

What’s great about 🦋 is that it’s open to builders in the truest sense. No hostile and locked down APIs, which means the community can experiment and create real value for everyone. Breath of fresh air! Case in point: @skircle.bsky.social

Day 2281 of cohabitation with partner, status report: I still cannot for the life of me figure out how to rearrange the padding on sports bras coming out of the wash. It’s like an infinite-sided USB-A you can only touch through a tiny hole

Launching Delegate on Monday! It will be a huge change in my work time allocation. My plan is to start with a 2h coding block first thing, and the rest of the day on distribution/SEO/content/customer outreach/etc. Would love to hear how other indies plan out their days!

More build in public awesomeness!

If you're an indie maker or interested in dev, I'm putting together a starter pack. Drop your @ here, and I'll make sure to include you. Power to the people! 🚀 go.bsky.app/AFG1Sgc

This moment of electric anticipation feels like an old friend... I just merged the final code to make my product launch-ready, and it feels surprisingly close to the rush of uploading a finished manuscript back in my novelist days. The act of creation is a marvellous thing.

Bsky feels like what I'd hoped Threads would be. Already very satisfied with how I've shaped my feed here, seeing a lot of great scientific and AI research and discussion. X is mostly people shilling to each other and engagement farming, Threads was almost entirely vapid (the Instagram of text).

Looking to connect with people building cool stuff! I’m mainly in the AI space but also appreciate beautiful apps of all stripes. I spend time thinking about the impacts of AI on our lives, living well, science and nature, and more. Personal interests include: travel, hiking, tech, and science.

You are up to date.
