You know why people get irate when they don’t understand? It’s usually because the information is being given in a condescending tone. Maybe ask yourself before replying to someone “are they GENUINELY asking, or are they just being a dick” Tune in next Monday on “HOW TO COMMUNICATE”

With PTSD, the most idiotic things ( left on “read” for example) could be a trigger for a person. If someone openly mentions that what you are doing is a trigger, please stop doing it. We are saying that because we know our dark side, and have to bring ourselves out of it, you don’t have to.

Everyone needs to wake up and realizes that the problem isn’t even “us vs them” it’s the consistent thinking that you (in the general sense) know your opposition… no you don’t. You know “me” (your own ego) and you are projecting your opinions onto your opposition… chew, swallow, digest.

One thing that I wish people could have explained better was the “triggers don’t go away, they become easier to handle” part of healing. It is a struggle when you’re trying to finish the job and the state of “home” is going into worse shape and deeper into the triggering actions than the OG trauma

“We are, each of us, largely responsible for what gets put into our brains, for what, as adults, we wind up caring for and knowing about. No longer at the mercy of the reptile brain, we can change ourselves.” - Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Just been re-watching mythbusters (it’s a comfort show for me) and the Newtons Cradle experiment with the wrecking balls, there was a flaw in the design of the experiment set up. The wrecking balls were being held by a singular point, in a newtons cradle… the swinging balls are held by two points.

I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

You are not helpless. You've been conditioned to believe you are helpless in response to triggers-- but that programming was laid down by bullies & abusers, possibly including people who said they "love" you, who don't really know you or want to see you succeed.

This has always been confusing for me. As a society… if someone claims themself to be a bad person, we try out hardest to convince them that they aren’t, yet if someone has relatively decent self image and confidence, society tries its hardest to tear that person down with comparisons?

A nervous system that has been shaped by the necessity of playing defense for years against the most powerful people in your life, isn't going to be open to superficial declarations that "you're safe now." The feeling & reality of safety is going to require time-- & tests.

Maybe this chapter of your life is about developing patience w/ & compassion for parts of yourself that you were conditioned to deny & disown-- & maybe you don't owe anybody any apologies for prioritizing your own safety & stability for once.

You working your recovery every day w/ authenticity & self-compassion adds something to the world that your bullies & abusers never could. You staying alive & working your recovery positively impacts people you don't know in ways you don't know. That's real.

(To the tune of God bless the USA by Lee Greenwood) Verse 1: We are losing everything we have, and have worked for all our lives. Many have to start again, just their name and their pride Used to thank my lucky stars, to be living here today Our freedom is in danger, can’t let ‘em go away!

Chorus: That it’s sad to be an American, Where freedom has a price. The fallen ones who gave their lives, this is not for which they died. I will gladly stand up and heed the call, however it may be Must do what I can to save this land, take back the USA!

Final chorus: I was proud to be an American Where I thought that I was free Still I won’t forget the ones who died, protecting those in need And I proudly stand up and heed the call, however it may be I won’t give up, I love this land! Take back the USA!

Yes it’s sad to be an American, where Freedom has a price The fallen ones that gave their lives, this is not for which they died And I gladly stand up and heed the call, however it may be Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, take back the USA!

Verse 2 (mostly the same as original) From the lakes of Minnesota To the hills of Tennessee Across the plains of Texas From sea to shining sea From Detroit down to Houston And New York to L.A There’s pride ‘n’ sorrow in ev’ry good heart And it’s time we stand and say

"For if you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners to be corrupted from their infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded from this, but that you first make thieves and then punish them?" -Thomas More

"They" are counting on freaking you out so badly that you cannot work your recovery or show up to help shape the world in ways you care about. Disappoint them. Work your recovery. Show up-- for your parts inside, & for your passions & causes out in the world.

Even if someone has a legit diagnosis of bipolar, schizophrenia, or another condition that seriously impacts how they experience the world-- that makes them MORE likely to have CPTSD, not less. MORE in need of trauma recovery support & resources, not "just" meds & hospitals.
