minneapolismn.gov42nd St bikewayThe City will build a two-way on-street protected bikeway. This project will be on 42nd St between Stevens Ave and Bloomington Ave.

huh. looks like the construction on 42nd st. will add curb-protected intersections to support a (future state?) two-way bike lane on the north side of the street? project scope only extends to Bloomington so there will be a weird diagonal crossing there for a while/forever

as if the human and civic costs weren't enough, this is just such an own goal in terms of Frey's ongoing bed shitting re the literal and symbolic responses to George Floyd's murder. The 3rd precinct is set to become a new "democracy center" and Frey is gutting the staff to run it? Baby brained.

I should have mentioned that my office is Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services. The Mayor's budget eliminates seven staff members less than two weeks before an anxiety-inducing midterm. No more high school election judge program. No more voter outreach.

if my administration had pushed to redevelop the burned out precinct into a democracy center as a physical and symbolic response to the city's ongoing history of brutal racism and disenfranchisement, I would simply ensure the elections department remained funded

inventing a guy to get mad at: a PETA-esque nonprofit against in-home air pollution that comes after the phrase "cooking with gas"

I understand there's an economic component to this, but it sucks so bad when a businesses only web presence is social media profiles

thought of this yesterday and now it feels like I need to quit my job and start a Wisconsin Vegan lifestyle brand

stopped at a magic show at the mn state fair. the magician saw me in the crowd and did a whole (pretty good!) bit about how I stalked her for a whole year—made me lick my lips and everything—and after her set was over a dude came up, grabbed my arm and yelled "stay the fuck away from my wife."

imo this is maybe the funniest thing that has happened to me for at least a year. the fair is far too expensive and crowded but it is still a magical place.

with only a few months left in office, walz should do something dramatic like make highway funding contingent on whether or not cities fly the new flag. either the flag becomes ubiquitous and walz claims a culture-war victory or it doesn't and we reduce highway spending to the sticks. win win!

what is the point of dfl party endorsements when every major politician in Minnesota just ignores them to publicly endorse who they want anyway

every year, thousands of Minnesotans participate in the caucus and convention process with the assurance and expectation that our democratic consensus will be reflected in the party's actions and platform. but I guess we're all just rubes compared to the ineffable opinions of pols like Frey and Her.

the feds have done more to harass americans angry over good and pretti’s killings than they have to investigate them

After federal agents shot Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, a New Yorker sent ICE's director an email in January comparing him to a Nazi. This week, DHS agents stalked him across New York. His home. A hotel. They gave his wife a letter warning of criminal prosecution. www.syracuse.com/news/2026/06...

I listened to the press conference so you don’t have to: - 15 defendants, all from the Twin Cities. 13 currently in custody - Direct Action MN mentioned - quotes and video from people fedposting on Instagram - lots of very obvious lies, local reporters were skeptical and they cut the Q&A off

North/South protected bike lanes on the west side of 35W in South Minneapolis: Hennepin Blaisdell 1st Bryant North/South protected bike lanes basically anywhere else in the city: no ❤️

the main bike routes in my neighborhood are two bike boulevards with really rough pavement quality. neither is on the city's radar for improvements. sucks to suck!

starting to wonder if we've got a Gamer on our hands because this is basically just MTG stack nonsense. big if true.

CM Whiting pondering wild legal theories. He asks the city attorney if the mayor can withdraw a nomination after the council has voted it down, in order to preserve his 3 attempts?

after unbridled success with the dog, we took our cat out for a stroll last night and he got so overwhelmed that he puked after like one block. he is firmly an indoor cat.

huge news: we bought a dog stroller

low: the bus stop right in front of my house is getting retired 😔 high: because the 14 is getting that sweet, sweet Better Bus Routes treatment 🥳

Metro Transit (Official)@metrotransitmn.bsky.social

Metro Transit service changes begin June 13! Updates across the metro are designed to improve reliability and better meet rider needs. View all route-specific changes and details: https://www.metrotransit.org/quarterly-service-changes-begin-on-saturday-june-13

this part won't go into effect until August, but: the best thing about this is that it will finally get rid of a weird situation at Bloomington and 38th where, once an hour, one of the northbound buses arrives at a stop across the street from all of the other buses.

poster in loring park in minneapolis says a man will pay you $10 to tie his shoe if you are brave and come to father hennepin bluff park on june 14. the bravery comes in guessing which person it is and approaching them without asking if they are the person who wants their shoe tied

The Minnesota Republican Party holding a moment of silence for the man who brutally murdered George Floyd might be one of the most fucked up things I’ve ever read. Evil.
