www.cnbc.com/2026/08/25/u... United Airlines expects more premium travel next year. Other airlines are, too. What does that mean about the distribution of wealth? Yes, we know.
Credible people have continued to point out that hyperscalars and chip makers have been misleading about their expenses, debt, and future earnings. The public clearly is either skeptical or strongly opposes massive data centers. One of many voices shedding light on this. bit.ly/3RSQ935
A history of "AI" by Richard Campbell. Maybe I like it partly because he also hinks "AI" is a terrible term for what are actually LLMs and are absolutely not intelligent. (Though they can be useful) Rational and hopeful predictions about the future. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWnU...

I thought Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics would never really be pertinent. Now, I realize that IAI (Imitation Artificial Intelligence) is incapable of understanding this, or indeed anything. It only spits out responses to prompts. #AIDebate en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_L...
Do we hate "AI" ? Yes, I think we do. Too much, too fast, and too much hype/lies. youtu.be/Dhx5RoOXrhk?...
This is a problem we've all come to accept. It is another example where choices are made for us that we have no impact on--the infamous YouTube algorithm. youtu.be/AJP6K2_rr90?...
Something hilarious I see no one talking about. SpaceX IPO— likely to be the largest in history — at the same time, the Kessler Syndrome could easily make that company worthless.
Now this is what I'm talking about. We are only powerless if we choose to be.
A one-day slowdown is irritating. A one-month slump is terrifying. With support for abolishing ICE growing and a bipartisan backlash prompting Trump to at least feign a more conciliatory approach in Minnesota, this is the moment to exert pressure. bit.ly/4aoo0an
When I hear foreign leaders refer to U.S. actions, I fervently wish they would be specific and correct and refer directoy to Trump and not what is still our country. Trump may represent the US on the world stage, but he IS NOT the U.S. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...
This is a TEDx talk from 11 years ago. For a while, the organizers refused to put it on their site, but eventually relented, and it is still up. Keywords: plutocrats, pitchforks. More relevant today than ever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2gO...

"On Tyranny" is a #1 NYT bestseller again. I wish the moment were different. But I’m glad the book is useful. And grateful for all the kind words about putting the 20 lessons to work. snyder.substack.com/p/twenty-les...

This did not change my mind, but it challenged my assumptions more than anything has in a long time. The anger is still there, replaced partly by confusion. I'm sure the anger will return. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxlo...

If TdA were as bad as they “determine,” wouldn’t there be widespread reports of “murders and kidnappings” from around the country? And wouldn’t the Govt’s case be stronger if they told the court about them? Finally, can courts take that lack of specific claims into account?
