The ability to send emails in timed batches (for better deliverability) AND to be able to pause sending to make changes to the email is one of many killer features of Bento. Developer Jesse Hanley has made an amazing thing. bentonow.com

Pleased to announce I'm the proud recipient of the Grand Prize of Clarity™, a highly coveted award in the world of online course structuring. 🏆 It's taken me a week of metaphorically bashing my head against my desk with this tricky little bugger. But I've got there.

quack, quick, quick, quack, quick, quack, quack, quack.  sma, fa, smaft, smaft.

The answer is yes. Yes, it does. Nodding along furiously with @jonathandot.bsky.social's every word. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nLq...

One thing I love about being a barfly is getting @theadminbar.com's excellent newsletter a day early. theadminbar.com/barfly-membe...

Fun fact: I once made an online course in TV chef Jamie Oliver's apartment.

I could listen to Joshua Redman all day every day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqBE...

"So, if I don't like the block editor for developing pages, and I also don't like the block editor for writing. What's its purpose?" Thoughtful musings from @danmaby.com with a surprising outcome. www.danmaby.com/posts/2025/0...

I started a new thing for my email list today: Foy's Friday Five 🎉 Here's FFF #1: app.bentonow.com/share/b5ZMGe... Today's features @westguard.co.uk, @matthewmedeiros.bsky.social, and others I'm not sure are on Bluesky or not. Want next week's FFF? Get on it here: www.davefoy.com/newsletter/

Plenty of things about the modern world concern and confuse me, but none more so than the baffling resurgence of the mullet 'hairstyle.'

Cancelled Netflix. It's way tipped over into quantity over quality. Been highly enjoying evenings reading, listening to music, playing chess with my wife, playing guitar/sax.

Bricks 1.12 was released today. bricksbuilder.io/release/bric... Do you use Advanced Themer? If so, don't update to Bricks 1.12 yet. Wait for the forthcoming AT 3.0 to be released in the next week or so before updating.

Still awake at 1am last night, couldn't sleep. Before I knew it, I'd availed Apple of their offer of 3 free months of Apple Arcade and was 2 hours into a depraved Solitaire binge.

Happy Hump Day! 🐪 My newsletter about #WordPress, Loop WP drops later today and will help you get over that hump. Feel free to subscribe below. 👇

I'm at the "just bought a shitload of domain names" stage of a new project for 2025 and I'm obviously very excited. ("Obviously" cos obviously the hard work hasn't begun yet.)

A selector like :nth-of-type(odd) might look intimidating for anyone newer to CSS... but it's not that complicated and it's extremely powerful. In this week's video I show you how I used it to help refactor my client's page to make it unbreakable for their content editors! youtu.be/2oiTYXZZB_E?...

Finally got round to watching Wim Wenders' Perfect Days last night. A film about the power of being present. I'm still thinking and talking about it this morning. Refreshing and thought provoking.

Nazi salute or not, Elon knows exactly what he's doing. Even playing with that horrific imagery is unforgivable.

I'm often asked why I offer parity pricing for my courses. So here it is: www.davefoy.com/parity-prici...

I've noticed if I call the gym "the f-ing gym" I'm much more likely to go.

Join us LIVE in about 90 mins for the 'This Week in #WordPress' show. It's fun, and we'd love your comments! Starts at 2pm UK time. wpbuilds.com/live Join Nathan Wrigley, Taco Verdonshot, Nicky Bulmer, and Corey Maass.

How it's going.

Got an idea for a new product. Wait for it... "Dave's Cool Web School" Good, eh?

I’ve made a curry almost every Saturday for 22 years. And tonight’s is an absolute belter. Bit unorthodox, but a splash of balsamic vinegar does wonders for a lamb curry.

Do you have any #WordPress news the community should know about? I don't usually do this, but I wondered if you've got some WP news that I might feature on 'This Week in WordPress' on Monday? If you do, please reply and I'll take a look. I'm unlikely to feature out-and-out promotional content! Thank

Really enjoying listening to this one. Nathan's story about the millennium flights thing is 😮

A lovely new podcast featuring two of the nicest guys in WP: @wpbuilds.com and @westguard.co.uk wpbuilds.com/2025/01/16/4...

Even if you're a non-coder using a WP page builder, it definitely helps to know the basics of HTML and CSS. @kevinpowell.co's new course 'HTML & CSS for Absolute Beginners' looks fantastic. learn.kevinpowell.co

Can't wait to try the new WS Form styler! Brilliant work @westguard.co.uk 👏 wsform.com/ws-form-rele...

The one thing I'm most excited about in web design for 2025. www.davefoy.com/excited-web-...

A new record shop is opening up literally round the corner from my house. This does not bode well for my finances.

Why do YouTubers wear headphones when recording solo YouTube videos? I get why you might wear them on a live call. But if you're just recording a solo video... what are you listening to in your headphones? Your voice? Can you not hear that anyway? Genuinely interested!

A little reminder, Paul C and I will be having a wee chat at 2pm GMT today. Come join in! youtube.com/live/oednZsY...

This is such a good course - so glad I bought it in the pre-sale!

Simon's WP newsletter is one of my must-reads. And that's not just cos I'm in it this week. 😉
