Great to meet up with Bike Worcester for the start of their @cyclinguk.bsky.social Glow Ride. Rain = no deterrent.

Photographic evidence of my participation in the Mûr de Ned hill climb yesterday has emerged - thanks DC. Still buzzing from it. Thanks again @nedboulting.bsky.social / @xobikes.bsky.social
I unexpectedly participated in a bike race today, the Mûr de Ned, a quirky and joyful community event hosted by @nedboulting.bsky.social in Lewisham. My first Hill Climb since The Tumble in the 90s (didn’t go well). Photos of my actual ride yet to emerge. Full report in newsletter next week. (1/2)
[Photos: First runner on the course, before the start with @lauralaker.bsky.social, the Mûr de Ned sign, Gilbert the dog (participant), Photo with Ned, Rider No 51 (11 point something seconds, didn’t trouble the podium)]

Some news. I’m stepping down from drawing cartoons for the Church Times. It’s been a privilege to do so for 21 years, and they’ve been brilliant, but it’s time. I’ve written more about this in my newsletter open.substack.com/pub/diagramc... . (Subscribe there if you’d like to follow what I do next.)

So I bought a second hand tumble dryer. Turns out the box on my bike was almost the perfect size. If anyone asks, @davewalker.bsky.social made me do it.
Introducing a new cartoon project: Creativity Diagrams. Been a cartoonist for 20 years, trying (and quite often failing) to be creative. A series of cartoons on the topic in my newsletter every week. More about it: davewalker.com/creativity/ Newsletter: diagramclub.substack.com/p/072-introd...
In some places we’d call this a reel, but not here, I don’t think. It’s my ‘Things that help me’ diagram, zipping past at a speed that doesn’t quite allow you to read it. [For an A4 printable version subscribe (free) to diagramclub.substack.com and I’ll send it.]
