“It’s vital to remember who you really are, it’s very important, it isn’t a good idea to rely on other people or things to do it for you, you see? They always get it wrong.” - Rincewind. From Sourcery (1988), by Sir Terry Pratchett #BookSky

I just realized that today is the day! I've been 3 years sober! Zero alcohol, no getting drunk, no self medicating etc. 3 complete years to the day! How should I celebrate?

Madame Death walks up to you wearing a dress. she sits down, you buy her a beer, she stinks of swamps, presses a leg against you. the bar tender sneers. you've got him worried, he doesn't know if you're a cop, a killer, a madman or an Idiot. - Charles Bukowski, Big Night on the Town (1992)

I haven’t been good about sharing when I’m watching movies or what I’m watching. I used to do it all the time. Going to get back into the habit now. I’ve been working through the Abbott and Costello boxset recently! #FilmSky #NowWatching Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff (1949)

Genuinely love waking up to (younger?) folks realising how good a character Austin Powers really is. He’s the anti-toxic Bond, and I love that it’s just accepted (with various levels of evidence to support it) that he’d be a good lgbt+ ally amongst other things. It’s a good morning vibe.

Part of me would love to see some of this covered in a new Austin movie, but deep down a part of me fears Myers would somehow mess it up… Maybe it’s best if we just let Austin live in our hearts and minds as his best possible self.

Going to revival screenings of Tristar movies and screaming when the logo pegasus gets too close to the camera

I will always find it funny when people think they can be objective about how they’ve interpreted a piece of art. Your lived experiences, your personality, your education, everything directly affects that interpretation. Making it truly impossible to be objective. There’s no “true” interpretation.

If you think you can be objective, if you think there’s a “truth” to how art is interpreted or discussed - you’re either kidding yourself or you’re so devoid of personality of your own you didn’t notice it impacting your outlook.

These two covers for X-MEN ‘92: INCURSIONS by Luciano Vecchio are just awesome. And I love how Rogue is front and center for both. #Art #ComicSky #Marvel

Seconded. Just did a rewatch the other day and it holds up so wonderfully. So, rarely do you get horror legitimately inspired by a true story, and it’s just so beautiful too.

if you want a commission for Christmas (physical media color pet portrait or b/w human portrait) I'm probably only able to take one or two so HMU sooner than later to get that figured out please :)

BOTD: Carrie Fisher, and oh boy do I miss her. To celebrate her, here’s her singing in an episode of Laverne & Shirley. ("The Playboy Show" Season 8, Episode 5). So few can pull off being smart, funny, and gorgeous all at once, but she did.
