I'm pleased to report that my expensive camera and lens survived being dropped onto solid cement from chest height. My dignity was not so fortunate ("I'm sorry I'm sorry please be alright!")

Saaame I was too sad to share my Bioware inspired art yesterday but here are some faves 💜 both personal fanart and commissions for some lovely fans of the games. Dragon Age is by far the world that's inspired me the most over the years and I'll cherish that forever

I was way too emotional for this yesterday, but I love this idea! ❤️ Here's some of my bioware fanart and inspired art. I've never been one to draw a lot of fanart for the same franchise, but I'm now itching to go back and play DAO again and I wanna draw all the fanart I couldn't do back then...

This feels a bit like the end of hope. BioWare made some of my all-time favourite games, and even though most of the studio had already been gutted before today, it still felt like their continued existence was a beacon of light on the distant horizon on increasingly dark and gloomy sea of despair.

FTR: I worked at BioWare for a brief period about 15 years ago. The passion, skill, dedication, and intelligence of my co-workers was sublime, but there was crippling pressure from above to deliver the impossible. Anyone who blames the devs for today's news has no idea how game development works.

The good news is that most of those wonderful people are elsewhere in the industry now. At its heart, BioWare was its people, and those people are still telling amazing stories. Also: fan-fic exists. Mass Effect is yours now. Dragon Age is yours now. JADE EMPIRE IS YOURS NOW!

Doctor: Since you reacted poorly to medication, your best option is- Me: Surgery? No problem! Cut me open! Doctor: Younger men undergoing this procedure often choose to freeze their- Me: No thanks! Doctor: ...because there is chance of infert- Me: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MEDICARE NUMBER!!!

PS: I'm fine. BPH, so no nasty tumors or anything, but it needs treatment because it's damn annoying. And no, I didn't actually tell the doctor to shut up, but it's an otherwise accurate summary of our conversation.

As a Muslim who has been accused of dual loyalty and asked to denounce everything from ISIS to the Iranian state, I breathed a sigh of relief that I think I’d been holding in for like two decades watching this.

Female Gang-gang Cockatoos might not be as striking as the males (which have a bright red head) but I love their slate-grey colour with touches of white throughout, real beauties! #cockatoo #parrot #birdart #pencilart #parrot

Pink-bellied Moth! (Oenochroma vinaria) I found this magnificent creature in my garden last night. It was still stretching its wings, so I was able to get very close with my macro lens. Thank you for your patience, little friend! #invertebrates

There are Dung Beetles in my garden! Cephalodesmius armiger are native to Australia, live in rainforest floors, and construct balls of rotting vegetable matter instead of dung. #invertebrates #insects

It was a very rare treat at Taronga Western Plains Zoo to see Tasmanian Devils running* about in the sun. * maybe "galumphing" would be a better word? They have a very odd gait.
